People have demonstrated in Washington and stood in front of the White House and Congress and the politicians ignored them and did what they wanted anyway.

We've been a society that has been made to believe we are dependant on government programs and regulation during the second half of the 20th century.  With the passage of huge overstepping legislation like the Patriot Act and Obamacare, while it is apparent America is in a steep social and economic decline because 20th century big government policies, I think people are waking up.

retirement....what exactly is that? when did that become a 'social entitlement'? SS doesn't allow anyone to retire and fly all over and vacation all over and
own multiple homes.....SS IS NOT FOR RETIREMENT....those are apples and oranges.....

ANYONE can 'retire' at ANY age....as long as they can sustain themselves however they like......SS is for later, way way way later when one cannot do much of anything....since the lifespan of us has gone up so should the age in which SS is collected and used.....

SS DOES NOT EQUATE TO RETIREMENT....it is low standard government system.....I dont care if it disappears......remember, even if those folks were
lied to when it was first started, the rest of us have been nibbling that apple to....

SS is for the weakest moment in your life.....and I dont think any of us actually strive for that just because we paid into it.....JMHO

Well said.   I've been paying into that pyramid scheme 4x the years  as my non-working years.   Like to see it just go away too , we already know the final score.

The failure of SS is just another example of 'government run programs'. They ALL fail in due time! No different than the obamacare beast! They are all used as vote getters.

Once we 'globalized', an this country became part of the global economy, did our elected officials have no vision for the future? Did they actually think that after ALL manufacturing jobs were outsourced, we'd be able to sustain ourselves? This country has been in the castration mode for decades. No vision, no plan.......no 'what ifs'!
