I f the roads were taken care of as they are every where else today would have been nothing but a nuisance .If you neglect a problem it only gets worse. Mother Nature aint gonna bail the Mayor from this one

Even Green Forest declared a snow emergency? What happened today was a flurry and as usual this pathetic Mayor was caught totally unprepared.

Who knows.  But he has his political crony deputy.   Woops, depuTIES.

Wait, we should ask DV.  He allegedly was traveling around the city.  Surely he stopped in for some pizza somewhere, then he probaly went to get a burrito, then to get a muddy cup of coffee and the new muddy cup place, popped into see SOS, the went to fill himself up with all kinds of bakery stuff.  He ain't doin any shoveling, he probably can't move after coming downtown, I mean, you can't buy anything unless it's junk food.

Seriously, either seek an education, or shut the hell up.
It's annoying.

What about the fact that you were calling us complainers for the last couple of weeks . If the Mayor would have had sh*t done right the first couple of times things would not be so bad now . You dont drive here ,you dont live here . You are not relevant here on this thread .

You are a bunch of whiners and complainers.   What's more you are a bunch of lunatics --- you talk out of both sides of your mouth ....  damning the mayor for not declaring a snow emergency and then criticizing me for calling it a snowstorm because you say it was only 5 inches of snow.     You folks obviously do not have a grip on reality.

I will continue to post my observations and opinions  .. no amount of your crying will stop me.

I have never threatened you with physical harm.   I couldn't care any less who you are and anything about you.

The problem is the lack of leadership DV.

I really use to be reasonably positive on Mayor Stratton.

This snow emergency thing is one of the major reasons I no longer support him at all.  The sheer lunacy of just ignoring massive snowstorms...  Like remember when they declared a State of Emergency, banning all non-critical travel, but did not declare a snow emergency?

Really - you can't make this sh*t up.

But back to my point about poor leadership.

There are apparently two reasons the mayor does not want to declare a snow emergency:

1)  The cost.  This perplexes me as the only added costs should be the police department issuing tickets.  I would think the ticket fees would cover their OT costs.  The towed vehicle owner would pay for the tow company costs.  I mean, we're still going to have to plow streets, and one would think it would go easier and quicker without cars in the way - so if anything wouldn't plowing costs go down?  I just don't get the cost complaint.

2)  People calling him and complaining.  Well tough sh*t.  A poor leader hides from challenges.  A strong one confronts them, and does not reward the bad behavior of those ignoring snow emergencies, by instead just not declaring them.  If you started declaring snow emergencies - guess what?  The people who get towed and have to pay $200 to get their car back might learn their lesson...  They might even knock on their neighbor's doors to alert them to the emergency if they see their car out.

But no - this mayor just hides his face in the sand.

On this one issue, absolute utter incompetence.

Every other municipality in the area has declared an emergency...  And Stratton cowers.

Well according to Walt it wasn't even a snowstorm ... I guess it was "fairy dust" that he was seeing.   So if I say that the Mayor should have declared a snow emergency  you and Walt and MC and MT will hammer me and say it was nothing.   If I say that he was right in not declaring a snow emergency  you and Walt and MCand MT will say some nasty things about me.

All I have said --and will say about the snowstorm -- is that 3 main roads in the Bellevue area of the city that I traveled on between 10 AM and Noon on February 1 were in good but not great shape ... the side roads were problematic.      Once I got home at noon and spent the afternoon cleaning my driveway,  I saw that the road by my house was being plowed regularly.

If you have a beef with the mayor take it to him.   I am staying home tomorrow and not going to worry about anything but cleaning my driveway.

NYC is hiring private companies and people to go down there to help with the clean up. A guy who works with me just told me today they hired his brother, they're paying for his transportation and food also Meanwhile our city will remain a mess, Stratton doesn't give a sh*t about the taxpayers and he proved this time and time again.

One would think that the city should be able to maintain the streets when it snows. IT CAN'T! Why? Because they have mismanage their city finances. Couple that with the fact that the metroplex gave relocated businesses a tax exempt status.

Common sense....the city is out of money, or it's being funneled in the wrong places, the residents can't shoulder the tax burden and the businesses that are tax exempt are not paying their fair share.

The city needs to get it's house in order and it can only start by voting these clowns OUT!! At both the city and county level. And it will take decades to undo the mess the liberal socialists have created.

He's in Washington accepting another award-lol. The comparison between Niskayuna/Rotterdam and Schenectady is stark (as usual). But so is Albany and Schenectady.

Albany actually has a Mayor who leads and declared a snow emergency. The main streets in Albany are cleared down to the pavement. Anyone that agrees with DVR should drive up Union Avenue. Because no snow emergency is ever declared a lane and a half blocked with snowed in cars. Up that hill it narrows to one way. Absolutely disgusting as is the condition of the City plows. Drove the entire Capital Region and Schenectady is BY FAR the worst in snow removal. But nobody can say anything and everyone has to pretend we have a Mayor that gives a fig.
