I would amend that to say  "airing alleged dirty laundry.   The fact is that she -- like any other resident is welcome to attend any of the meetings.

The old line liberal DEMS have been pushed aside by Landslide Savage's crony capitalist crowd. The old line DEMS are waking up to the fact that the goodies have passed them all by. They were the ones outside GE without tickets. While the crony capitalists led by Death Ray and Mercury Morris {the coffee/catering maven} were hogging the front row seats. Nothing went to the DEM rank and file/workers.

      The Presidential visit has brought about unintended consequences. It clearly proved who was in and who was out in the snow. And everyone saw it.

I agree. And sure...the old time dems played politics just like they do today....but not to this extent!!! The new dems have become a party of whores and are compromising their entire party for power, greed and the select few. The biggest mistake the dems made was becoming bedfellows with the cons. They ventured into unchartered waters and will drown the party if things don't change.

It is alarming to see the 'old time dems' being tossed aside after all of the work and devotion they have put into their party and community. The old time dems knew how to respectively coexist with the opposing party. Not this bunch.

It would take years for the 'old time dems' to undo the damage this bunch has done. IMHO

Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of every month at the Senior Center ..... there are no vacancies among the 9 member Commission at the moment.   However,  the public is always welcome and as chair .. I allow the ex-officio members and the public to participate in the discussions.

No publication of the agenda nor minutes of a governmental committee/commission on the government's website, and you chair it.  Just as secret as SOS and the firechief, just as secredt as SOS giving himself a raise

Copies of the agenda and minutes of all meetings are hand delivered to the Town Clerk's Office by me personally.    Every member of the Town Board and relevant town staff person receives copies of every agenda and the minutes of every meeting.    It is up to the Supervisor's office to post it on the town's website.    It is up to the Town Clerk's Office to make copies available upon request to the public.

Also, the meetings are always held in a public place with the door unlocked.   Copies of the list of all meetings last year and, now this year, were given to the Town Clerk's Office and the Supervisor's Office.   It is up to them to post it on the town bulletin boards and publish any official notices in the newspaper.

I have also given the Spotlight newspaper last year and the Daily Gazette both in 2010 and 2011 .. copies of the list of all meetings of the commission.

So -- bottom line -- the Parks and Recreation Commission has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IN SECRET.

The names of Commission members  is available at Town Hall  --- as is the official schedule of meetings -- although I also mentioned the meeting day/time  in a previous post.

No one got a "boot in the a**" from anyone.   If they think they did -- then it is all in their own minds.

Mrs. Dufek made up the whole she was treated rudely and not allowed to attend the Parks Commission bit.  There is absolutely not a shred of evidence that the public has ever been denied access to the meetings ... and the fact is that unlike the Town Board -- where  2 members refuse to share information with the other 3members and where the public is allowed only brief "privilege of the floor" opportunities  ------
the FACT is that every member of the Commission and every visitor as well as every Town Board member and relevant Town staff member has been given copies of every agenda, every minutes, every piece of correspondence , every proposal, every piece of supporting documentation and research items

Oh -- and except about a dozen copies of one document - the town has not had to pay for copies made, postage paid for commission mailings or any of the supplies used by the commission.    

So the Parks and Recreation Commission is the most open and transparent and accessible to the residents of any of the boards or commissions of the town --- and unlike all of the other boards and commissions .. we have not cost the taxpayers a penny.

Oh -- and we get along well with each other and actually talk to one another and get things accomplished.

All in all -- I would say that we are doing a great job.
