Impotent...very good description of that under-achiever. |
| "While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat." |

Only the Town Board can spend money. The Parks and Recreation Commission can only make recommendations. It is legally possible for the Town Board to give the commission additional powers - but so far such a resolution has not been drafted or approved.
hence the appointment of Dufek..... you see they had to 'make' a common enemy to make it 'OK' for the appointment....you know the public would say.."atleast she got something for her hard work".....I'm thinkin' this is a 'good-cop/bad-cop' scenario...... |

Quoted from 612
BT--come on they are certainly no worse than ST and Mertz and in many cases better. MM you happen to be right here but you did your share of crapping on people too.
DVR--LD should have been on the committee from the beginning. This move by FDG now makes you look impotent in your position. But you must have put up some roadblock for him to trump you so publicly. This smells of some back room deal where all the players weren't accounted for.
I have explained what happened several times. When she and 2 other people did not show up at the December meeting when we were considering the names to be recommended for appointment. The commission - not me alone - made the decision to send the names of the 8 people who had been a part of the commission for over a year and 1 new person to the Town Board to be recommended for appointment. The Town Board voted3-2 to approve the list of names recommended by the commission. At NO point between December 8, 2010 and December 27 or 28 did Supervisor, Deputy Supervisor or Mrs. Dufek contact me in regard to the list of names recommended. It was either on the 27th or 28th - that I found out through a third party that the list of names to be appointed had been changed by the Supervisor and Deputy Supervisor. I made 2 efforts to see the Supervisor at Town Hall between the 29th and 30th -- was told that he was too busy to see me. There was never any "back room deal" and to even suggest that as much humorous as it is offensive. The problem lies in that the Supervisor and the Deputy Supervisor seem to believe that they are the CEO's of the town and can make decisions without consulting the the other members of the Town Board --- members who were elected by the public and each of whom has the EXACT same share of power to cast a vote and thus make decisions AS A FIVE MEMBER BOARD. The Town Board is not just the Supervisor and Deputy Supervisor making decisions and the other 3 members expected to only ask "how high?" when told to jump. Finally, it all boils down to actual courtesy -- either the Supervisor or the Deputy Supervisor could have picked up the phone and called me -- we could have met and worked things out. They chose to take a different route -- that is their choice. Also, they have still not had the decency and courtesy to contact me regarding this newest proposal. They know my number -- they can call it. But I am not going to hold my breathfor that. |

I want to be sure I understand...maybe someone can confirm this. Resolution 66.11 is to expand the Parks & Rec Committee to 10 members...this change potentially sets up the committee to have a 5/5 tie on their recommendtions. Nothing could be decided or recommended if this happened and it could stymie the committee's progress. And as far as the appt of LD, that has to be approved by a majority of the Town Board also. She needs three votes...will she get them? 66.11 was undoubtedly initiated by Hitler and Napoleon...that's only two votes.
My guess is that this discussion is all for naught. It won't pass!

The bottom line here is that rotterdam is now being run like a dictatorship!!! Hitler and Napoleon are backing themselves into a corner of alienation. From day one....they proposed an unpopular idea that the 'fantastic 5' not be required to answer any questions from residents at a public meeting. They have insulted residents. They have used crude remarks ('not a hair, you know where' ). They have suggested 'no more' agenda meetings. Creating havoc with a 'one location' voting place for the rems vote. Cross training without notice or reason. Changing volunteer committees for no apparent reason. And the most infamous one from FDG.........'town clerk only has to work ONE day a year'!! The next rotterdam town clerk better NOT be present in that office for more than one day a year or rotterdamians will be out with their pitchforks!! Looks like LD had friends in high places in rotterdam, huh?
And let's not forget rotterdam's latest..........NO TEXTING DURING A 'PUBLIC' TOWN BOARD MEETING!!! And who can forget a fraudulent town clerk! And they wonder why rotterdam is the laughing stock!! |

They would probably throw out a little out lady for knitting during a public town board meeting. |

Great review of this much ado about nothing issue. The squeaky wheel-AGAIN! And if it passes 10 members. Wouldn't be easier to get someone to step off? Cite the ever popular "family issues". |

There is no need to ask anyone to "step off" -- Mrs. Dufek is able to attend the meetings as a member of thegeneral public and participate ... and as of the morning of the January meeting -- she has been an ex-officio member acting as the Supervisor's personal representative. The only difference between being an appointed member and an ex-officio member is that she is not among the 9 members counted for purposes of determining a quorum and would not be able to vote on formal votes. Our commission conducts most of its business by consensus. Roll call votes or formal votes have only been used for the most formal decisions -- such as the resolution to send the proposed Town Parks Plan to the Town Board for its approval. |

Rotterdam became a laughingstock under Signore and especially ST. I remember being in a physician's office when a doc saw my address and asked "what's wrong with those guys in Rotterdam?" Does your commission use Robert's Rules? |

13 years of Jimmy Constantino tells a lot more about Rotterdam than Signore's and ST's small stints in office. Every Democrat that went to the polls and supported that corrupt pervert should be ashamed. Laughing stock begins in 1983. FDG is the reincarnation of the past. JM's reappointment is further proof. |
