In his situation, I do not believe he was an abuser.   There are women who would chase a broomstick if
it had a collar and a cassock on it.

Your attacks on Bishop Hubbard and the Catholic Church cause me to believe that you are
a disgrace to Knights of Columbus and to the Catholic Church.

So the diocese paid > $2 million in settlements, and the state troopers are all lying, along with the people in Washington park - but the people who believe Hubbard to be a facilitator, if not an abuser, are the disgrace.

Don't get me going, I'll BURY you in details.

First of all, I didn't put it up on the internet..don't bash the messenger, so you can stick it. If you can categorically exonerate EVERY ONE on that list, I'd love to hear it....BUT YOU AND I KNOW YOU CAN'T!!!
You can deny the catholic church hierarchy does not have issues all you want, but you'd lying to yourself.
As far as the Christian thing, you can be a good Christian and not listen to the Catholic church, in fact, that's how MOST Christians in this country do it. SHOW ME IN THE BIBLE WHERE CHRIST CREATED THE POSITION OF POPE AND THE HIERARCHY OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.. I'll be waiting.
To me, the Catholic church is nothing more than a corporation.

Actually, in America a person is innocent until proven guilty ... you must prove YOUR allegations in a cour
of law.
You can find it in the Bible when Jesus declared Simon Peter .. the rock upon which he will build his Church.

You come across as a Catholic-basher ... presumably one of the denominations that hates all things
Catholic  ....  too bad you don't actually practice the Christian charity that you supposedly preach.

Yes, you are the disgrace.   You claim to belong to an organization that at its very foundational core is
supposed to support and build up the clergy and the Church.   Yet you write unfounded, malicious lies
about clergy and the Church.   You are an example of how the devil tries to destroy the Church from within.

You live in fantasyland! Out of court settlements happen all the time.
Why is the diocese paying for all this money to victims if their accusers were innocent?
You above all should deserve to know because its your money in the collection plate that is helping to pay it!

I am not anti-catholic but at the same time I do not believe they  have a divine advantage over non-catholics, and Bible tends to back that up. Please correct me if I am wrong on that one

And in a number of cases, the accusations made by accusers turned out to be bogus.

Your final comment is ridiculous ..1)  the Catholic Church was responsible for putting together what we
call the Bible so don't play the we are non-Catholic Christians and we know the Bible better than the
Roman Catholic Church bit   ....   and 2) there is no place in Roman Catholic teaching where we say that
we have a "divine advantage over non-catholics"  --- it sounds like something made up.

Bullshit

And you still haven't explained the payoff of complainants nor the fact the Catholic church has NO authority in any Bible scripture. As a Catholic, you have never been exposed to the bigotry by supposed men of the church, but I did when I got married 23 years ago...and my case was FAR from unique

Ok....let's take the name 'catholic' out of the discussion.

The FACT is that this 'person in authority', that has taken an oath to uphold ideals that he preaches/teaches and represents, has clearly fallen short of it's foundation.

Those are the FACTS!

If we were talking about a 'business'..........he would have been fired!

You have no idea what my experience with the Catholic church has been like,   Furthermore, the website that you referred to is full of errors.

I don't hate you -- but it is useless to discuss matters with someone who obviously is jaded and filled
with bad information.    I will do as Jesus said .. and pray for those who persecute the Church.

Of course it is ...anything other than the official Vatican doctrine is

And I guess the Church of Rome is the only church...Jesus must have said it...I just need to find it

The catholic church has many 'faithful'. And the catholic church has done some good things.
The  unfortunate thing is that the catholic church and most of their 'faithful', choose not to recognize, accept, expose or deal with the cancers within it's own.

The catholic church, along with other religions, have taken the 'secular' route. What once was a 'solid rock' doctrine and belief system, is now being replaced by 'needles for drug addicts, pro-abortion, homosexuality', co-habitating..... sold as a bill of goods under the umbrella of 'compassion'

'Don't eat meat on friday > it's okay to eat meat on friday!  Make up the flocks mind!

You  can say that for many other religions - including the plethora of Christian denominations.

And all Catholics (with exceptions for young children, the eleerly and the sick) are asked to abstain from meat on Fridays during Lent   ---- a number of us abstain from meat every Friday throughout the year and
on Wednesdays or another day.

Bishop Hubbard has carried out his duties as a priest and bishop extraordinarily well.

No 55 you stick it.  You put something up that also contains half-truths.  Your intent was to malign and act in a  salacious manner.  I know, knew and worked with several of those on your list.

Including Joe Mancuso just shows how sloppy your research is. Mancuso didnt abuse anyone. Don Ophals was not guilty.  You paint everyone with a broad bush.  You like throwing this crap around but never mentioned any of  the good any of these men did---and there was plenty.

Yes I know the stories of the park, the hospital, and I can think of at least two other priests who never got caught and are now happily retired.  Jerks at best.

Hubbard is not perfect.  No priest is.  For that matter neither is our Pope.  BUT he is my Pope and we believe him to be infallible.  Hubbard is my Bishop and although he an I have had our differences, he remains my Bishop.

Your comments and this thread are unacceptable.  I suggest 55 you clean up your act.
