ABC News says U.S. Rep. Michelle Bachmann is considering running for president and will confer this month with GOP officials in Iowa about her prospects in that early caucus state.

Citing an unnamed "source close to the three-term congresswoman," the network said in a report Wednesday that Bachmann will hold "multiple meetings to seek advice from political forces there and party elders close to the caucus process before coming to a final decision regarding a potential presidential run."

Bachmann, a Republican who represents Minnesota's Sixth Congressional District, has roots in Iowa, having been born in Waterloo, Iowa.

Bachmann also is the headliner at an Iowans for Tax Relief PAC fundraiser Jan. 21 in Des Moines, ABC noted.

Her trip to Iowa will be her third in eight months. Last week, she attended a GOP fundraiser in Michigan.

Asked about Bachmann's presidential intentions, her chief of staff, Andy Parrish, told ABC News: "Nothing is off the table. The congresswoman is excited about her first trip to Iowa this year."

Bachmann makes Palin look intelligent!

*** "I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out under another, then under another Democrat president, Jimmy Carter. I'm not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it's an interesting coincidence."
~ -Rep. Michele Bachmann, on the 1976 Swine Flu outbreak that happened when Gerald Ford, a Republican, was president, April 28, 2009

***"Carbon dioxide is portrayed as harmful. But there isn't even one study that can be produced that shows that carbon dioxide is a harmful gas."
~-Rep. Michelle Bachmann, April, 2009

***"There are hundreds and hundreds of scientists, many of them holding Nobel Prizes, who believe in intelligent design."
~ -Rep. Michele Bachmann, Oct. 2006

philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Judging by how quickly the GOP did a 180 after the 2010 elections -- it is obvious that they are
the party of "Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumber".
They campaign on reducing the deficit and then caved in - allowed Obama, Pelosi and Reed to add a
trillion dollars more to the deficit .. just to save tax cuts for the rich.   They gave away the store during
the lame duck session -- when all they had to do was sit on their hands and wait until they officially took
over the House in January.

The National GOP offers hollow promises and is as spineless as an earthworm.

The only way they could do worse is if they decided to make Buchanan and Parisi their National Chairman
and Vice Chairman -- then they would implode and fade away.

I wouldn't call that a 180, I would call that the RINO's last throws during a lame duck to hand out pork and update their rolodexes for when they leave office to become lobbyist before the 60 new Republicans are seated.  We'll see how the establishment GOP handles the many new faces (many of whom ran primaries against the establishment candidate and won) in order to get an accurate picture of which direction the party is heading in.  In other words, how long will it take for Washington to corrupt the freshman class?

They're going to start to take some of that money that was given away back over the next two years.

Apparently, the whole GOP caucus is full of RINO's -- and not just the one's who retired or lost - but those
who got reelected or were staying on.

Judging by the failure of Boehnner and McConnell to hold their ground during the lame duck session .... I can pretty much tell what direction this GOP Congress is headed.     Just like when the Democrats ran on CHANGE in 2006 and 2008 ... the GOP ran on CHANGE in 2010 -- and the only change is the names and faces of
the politicians sitting in the fancy chairs ....  they still act like the political whores that they have always been.

Time will tell whether the Reps can accomplish what they promised but it's going to be pretty hard to get anything thru the Senate or by the President as long as the Dems control those offices. If the Dems push too hard to stop spending cuts it could spell the end of many of them in the next election if they continue to refuse to yield to the will of the people.

I don't have much faith that either Congressional Democrats or Republicans will actually cut
spending.    The GOP talks about it  - but has NEVER actually cut spending.
