I'm not an assessor, but if you look at Wendy Ct. every property assessed value ranges between $120 to $140 per square foot.  Except for 210, the largest house on the street fetched about $87 per square foot.  Must be one of those anomalies.  If you look at the land value on Wendy Ct. you'll notice that the land on 210 is assessed a few grand less than everybody elses.  Even though it is roughly the same in size, if not larger. Must be another one of those Schenectady County anomalies.

Mr. Larned's contribution to Revitalize Rotterdam accounts to a small fraction of all the contributions.
MANY people gave to the Revitalize Rotterdam team directly and indirectly.

Beween a contribution from his business and personal, not one individual gave more the TL.  Not even FDG himself.

Heard it was pointed out to the 'last' rotterdam assessor too.......k? This is not an isolated case in rotterdam. Nor is it anything new for rotterdam!

I'm sure our new assessor will address that "anomaly" as soon as he takes office.  That assessment is WAY too high.

What do people have to do to get a fair assessment, pay fair taxes, and get treated with respect because this problem is not just unique to Rotterdam it's all over.

Nobody finds it odd that a person would contribute nearly $8000 dollars to a Republican assemblyman’s campaign, and then to a "revitalize Rotterdam" campaign, which was funded predominately by Democrats with all the candidates being endorsed by the Democrat Party?  Yet he was the largest RR single donor.  I understand that businesses usually donate a little to both parties, but these are HUGE contributions to one candidate. Does that sound very principled?  Why would he contribute so much to both of these candidates with different party philosophies? Unless you believe George Amedore and FDG share the same political philosophy.

DV, to think somebody that contributes that kind of cabbage to a political candidate doesn’t have influence over that candidate is naïve.

You folks implied that he created and financed all of Revitalize Rotterdam and even endorsed the candidates ... the fact is that MANY people gave to Revitalize Rotterdam  (not just one person) and the individual
party committees made the endorsement .... oh -- and he did not create Revitalize Rotterdam.

So get your facts straight before you make your posts.

BTW   ---    IMHO   It is more principled to give to one candidate than to give to all the candidates.

Just a point of clarification, 210 Wendy Court is classified as Contemporary which traditionally has a lower assessed value than a Colonial.  I don't know why, it just does.

210 WENDY CT        58.17-1-6  Acres: 0.37 Front: 0 Depth: 0
$346,000  6 - Contemporary  1988  3,974  4 / 3 / 1

        Here is another example,

118 COUNTRY WALK RD        57.16-1-76  Acres: 0.45 Front: 0 Depth: 0
$302,000  6 - Contemporary  1993  2,831  3 / 2.5 / 1

There are 16 other same style homes all Colonials, however this particular one was changed to a Contemporary and the taxes were dropped about $70,000 dollars.

That's still $107 per sq ft.  210 Wendy Ct. is still 20% lower per sq. ft.
