Yeah well he should have told other members of the slate he was doing that before he did it.  I know for  a fact one team mate felt abandoned by that action.  Listen I thought McGarry was admirable when he wouldn't go to the debate because Parisi slammed FDG as an illiterate.  In fact I called McGarry to tell him how admirable I thought that was.  So BT--there are some things you don't know jack about when it comes to me.

I believe that McGarry's motives were 'personal in nature'. This wasn't a football game. It was as individual as the person.Like I said.....a class act demonstrated by both McGarry and FDG and should be a lesson learned for all rotterdamians who define everyone by their politics!

Avon I wasn't saying that NNTP is aligned with the Tea Party (though some on that ticket may be).  It was just a general suggestion for the Republicans to stay clear of the Tea Party folks.  Also the original sentiment continues--NTTP is a spoiler.  Also when you inlude "outsiders" those who are not in your voting area, with no vested interest in your town, it may also be prudent to think twice about letting them in your campaign unless their sphere of influence is large.

spoilers must exist....remember the 60's? yeah, we got those hippy-yippies elected....their time is up...Dennis Hopper go home...
as for the 'dangerous rhetoric', again, 'art expression' from the 60's movements.....they removed any kind of civil discourse learning
from public schools and left them to spell cat, k-a-t.....the masses when misunderstood, misrepresented, and uneducated and leaving
the 'ALL ABOUT ME' offspring have brought us here.....

and THAT is what The Tea Party MOVEMENT(NOT PARTY)......IS.......it IS American history, our past and in our blood.....it's way beyond
political parties....and I will say again...The Movement has no leader and anyone who chooses to sit there should be prepared to fall
any time The Movement is finished with them....we dont defend anyone who sits there....we expect them to say what they mean and
mean what they say....if you speak politico jibberish, your all done.......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

I believe that many misunderstand the NNTP to be the "local" version of the National Tea Party.  I never saw it that way, it was a third party political movement to bring fiscal responsibility back to the government of the Town of Rotterdam, plain and simple!

You're right as least as far as I was concerned.  But civility is a huge part of being able to actually make that possible.  I made a deliberate effort to avoid the negative nonsense when I ran.  Frankly, the National Tea Party scares the heck out of me.  In large part, they have embraced the very disrespectful rhetoric that already dominated the major parties.  Voters need to demand better civility from their elected hopefuls if they ever expect to see the solutions they supposedly clamor for.  It has nothing to do with free speech - it's about expecting basic human decency from grown adults.

I don't know the exact details of the offer on the table, but I think it involves endorsing BM for County Leg to get him out of the way, and running a very flawed retread candidate for Supervisor.   The Reps are in a position to win some seats, but it looks like they may squander it over more political infighting.

Personally, I have a hard time envisioning any kind of “deal” that moves Brian to a county race. Forget whether he could win at the county level or not, he’s already announced in the press he’s running for Supervisor and has an imminent  fundraiser to facilitate that.  Wouldn’t it be problematic to switch intentions now even if he was inclined to?  Seems to me he’s laid his course, no?

He should stick to his course.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

I don't think McGarry has a snowballs chance in you know where to get elected .. but if he did he would be
a disaster.

The no new tax group doesn't want to work with the GOP...they want their own way or they will set out to be spoilers.

What?  They will set out to be spoilers?  That's ludicrous!  Damn straight they want their own way - but that way isn't really theirs - it's ours.  As voters, we keep complaining about what we get (from either party) and then when someone comes along to provide us another choice they're spoilers?

"Working with the GOP" is necessary why?  Because the reality is two major parties have dominated the political scene for a while so we have to fit in to one of them?  I've been a registered Republican for my entire voting life but let's face it, the Republicans are as bad as the Democrats in different ways.

I sure hope the no new tax group doesn't want to "work with the GOP" because the GOP is still broken - if you're going to do the hard work to create an independent line then stay independent.  You think you have appeal to a major party base?  Then run in a contested primary and let the voter decide.  If the goal becomes placating party power brokers, you might as well not even bother running in my book, because the party power brokers only care about the electorate secondarily - it's about preserving and protecting their own power first.

I agree. He appears to be focused with a plan and vision. As I'm sure many candidates do. They put their best foot foreward, or at least should, and take the leap. But ultimately the electorate decides. But I don't think there will be a change in plans for McGarry. IMHO

they are not 'spoilers'. (a word that the two party system created)........they are 'choices'. The two party system is broken. The only people that call the independents 'spoilers' are the people so embedded in this political process, that they are fearful of the loss of control and political manipulation. IMHO

Thank you for wishing us good luck ... although it is not a "death grip" .. it is a "life giving grip".

Sorry, I won't be at Canali's for McGarry or any of the other Nattering Nayboobs who might be put up to run.
