Submitted by Bryan Usrey on 2010-11-19 Joe Scarborough Suspended
MSNBC has suspended host Joe Scarborough for donating money to political candidates in Florida. This is the same violation that occurred earlier this month with Keith Olbermann.
MSNBC President Phil Griffin released a statement earlier today, stating that Scarborough made eight donations of $500 to local candidates in Florida between 2004 and 2008. He failed to seek permission from the company before donating funds and he understands the suspension.
Scarborough will return on November 24, after a suspension without pay
In order to make such a donation, employees must seek permission from NBC News first.
Scarborough apologized in a public statement, saying, "I recognize that I have a responsibility to honor the guidelines and conditions of my employment, and I regret that I failed to do so in this matter."
In this statement, he said that he gave these donations to his brother and three longtime family friends. They were just simple acts of friendship and that he gained nothing from them.
Scarborough served in the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 2001 as a Republican from the 1st district of Florida.

NBC has that rule of getting permission from the bosses of NBC b4 donating to any campaign to make sure that none of their employees ever make any contributions to anyone but a liberal Dem.
