OK...sometimes you guys REALLY confuse me. I want to make a couple of quick statements before I get into this. First, you all want lower taxes regardless of political bent. And second, you all think Schenectady County(and New York State by extension) has high taxes. Can we all agree on those facts?

Now, someone is proposing that there be an INVESTIGATION into the events that lead up to an investigation into notary fraud?!?

Just to backup a bit here and inject a bit of speculation...I SUSPECT the amount of money 'defrauded' Rotterdam by the notarized dead person didn't amount to much. Maybe it resulted in the offending resident saving a couple hundred dollars in taxes...NOW...let's do a tally on how much this affair costs taxpayers...the notary investigation involved the state department marching into Rotterdam and conducting interviews. It also involved an investigator pulling files from the town and then reviewing them. Then it took a hearing officer to review the case and make a determination. It also required the town to hire an or use its own attorney to represent EE.

Now do we have a calculator handy for all that? And are your fingers getting sore yet?

Now 'the other side' wants a POLICE INVESTIGATION? Ok, fine. Let's add in some police overtime from the Rotterdam PD(who don't come cheap BTW) to poke around town hall. If there's a conflict, then the SP investigates and it costs even more...and then throw in the ADA from the county who needs to review the investigation and determine charges. If he or she does, then the case goes before the town justice. If they are felony charges, they get forwarded to the county for a GRAND JURY, so no the county is paying for a prosecutor and up to 16 grand jurors for the day. Then if there's an indictment, the town is on the hook for ANOTHER attorney because Surprise and Parisi were both town officials at the time of the alleged fraud...and you know they're both going to fight fraud allegations if they made it that far...

Still got that calculator? Well, I'll bet you folks every piece of dyed hair in EE's head that whatever amount it's showing after that tally is many times what the original homeowner benefited from getting a dead person notarized.

AND YOU WONDER WHY YOUR TAXES ARE HIGH?!? Get real.

The FACT is that  the people who were involved in the conspiracy against Mrs. Esposito are the lowest forms

bumble, the point is that this issue is dead. EE broke the law, she was punished and it's over. To now say 'let's investigate who started the investigation' is a waste of time and money. And given the propensity for folks here to call for investigations, these are two things they must really like wasting.

It sounds like perpetuated their own "sting" on Mrs. Esposito ala' the FBI. Can private citizens set up stings like that? It seems like you know all the details.
