I hope that Andrew Cuomo does the respectable thing and marries Sandra Lee.  She would
be a cool first lady ... we have enjoyed her Food Network for years.

She doesn't want to remarry. Having her around the campaign probably tricked another few sheeple into voting for him.

Andrew Cuomo won the election for Governor because he was a better candidate for the office than
Carl Paladino.   I hardly think that Sandra Lee made a difference in the outcome.

She didn't hurt. She added missing star quality. When you look at her-he almost seems to make sense.

Well you might want to consider this---for whatever reason, Cuomo may not want to remarry because that cuts him out of the faith.  (I think he should get married if he wants and forget the other but that might be a consideration)

If Mr. Cuomo has/had his first marriage annulled by the Catholic Church ... he would not be  
"cut out of the faith".

...why would he have it annulled? Just b/c a spouse cheats on you doesn't mean you didn't have a valid marriage and your kids are illegitimate.

that is just a money grab by the catholic church.

She doesn't want to remarry. He would marry her in a NY minute. Once she takes a look around Smallbany don't expect her to be back.

For the record -- having a marriage annulled by the Catholic church does NOT make the children of the
marriage illegitimate.

For the record -- if a Catholic divorces and has the marriage annulled .. the Catholic is free to marry another
person without losing their standing in the Catholic Church.

You folks like to bash the Catholic Church .. but you don't have a clue about the Canon Law of Marriage or
most other issues.

It's a very expensive process to get an annulment in the Catholic church.and your ex has to agree to your version of what happened. At least that's the way it was explained to me when I checked into a possible annulment.

Both not true - The Diocese of Albany does not charge anything for the annullment process - and only asks  for a voluntary donation AFTER the process is over.
  
While it is helpful to have the cooperation of the  ex-spouse, it is NOT required.  A reasonable attempt is
made to contact the ex-spouse and have them answer some questions on a form.    

There is NO requirement that the ex-spouse must agree to your version.

The church on the corner of Albany and Kings Rd was where the procedure for applying for an annulment was told to a group of us seeking information about getting and annulment. There was a $1000 donation figure thrown out for the paper work, investigation, and procesing. I was told my ex would have to sign the paper work that I submitted agreeing with said paper work being submittede and I kneew right then and there that wasn't going to happen. I could care less what Albany does and it was indicated to us that without the $1000 donation ,as you call it, nothing was going to happen.

13. Is there a fee?
The Marriage Tribunal is subsidized by the faithful of the Diocese, most of whom never require
its services. To help defray the subsidy, the person who submits a petition is asked for $350.00. A
filing fee of $100.00 is requested. After the final decision has been rendered, a person may pay
the balance. of $250.00 any way he/she is able. If anyone requires a reduction or a total waiver of
the fee, the Tribunal will arrange to honor such a request.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL A PERSON'S PETITION BE REJECTED BECAUSE
THAT PERSON IS UNABLE OR UNWILLING TO MEET THE EXPENSE INCURRED BY THE
TRIBUNAL IN A GIVEN CASE.

It would appear that the church has changed some of the rules since I inquired about an annulment. Now it's only $600 donation and you can say what you want I was told in confidence that if you don't send in the donation you wouldn't get the annulment.
