The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Point being?

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

I guess two cars crashing head on at high speed is to subtle for Graham.  Possibly a train wreck?

No MT... A Train Wreck... Like the Bush Economic Meltdown!

(Side note)
A "bipartisan" commission of millionaires just proposed that Congress slash Social Security -- instead of taxing the wealthy. (Redistribution of Wealth)

Personally I think they are idiots to destroy a WORK OF ART like the 1959 Chevrolet just so they could say "look at how wonderful we are!"

I STILL DON'T KNOW THE POINT YOU WERE MAKING BY POSTING THIS.

He posted it in the Gloversville forums, nobody replied, so he came here to see if he could get someone to pay attention to him

There are those oldtimers who consider the older versions,  larger heavier cars as being safer.  They are not.  The video compares the safety innovations in the last 50 years.
If you're not interested in the video, don't watch it.

I'd like to see a Bel Air VS. Model T.

Or a Model T VS. Covered Wagon.

Remember when America led the world in making cars?  Then in the 60's there was an accendency of liberalism that eventually bankrupted the Auto Industry with regulations and greedy labor unions.

DVOR is right but the liberal progressive just wants the rest of us to ride the communal bike while the elite liberal rides in style on our dime.

No duhhhhh. If the new cars had all the design elements they currently have, and had full frames (+ 1,500 extra lbs.) like the old cars, the drivers would walk away without a scratch. There are certain elements of design which have improved WHILE the government has forced them to curb emissions, use unleaded, low octane gas, ethanol, and get better mileage (reduced weight) that make the design curve for safety steeper and steeper. Cicero's point about butting against a model T or Conestoga Wagon makes the point the simplest. Engineering has advanced 100 fold in the past 5 decades. The problem is that making a car lighter, makes it increasingly difficult to design it more safely. If you want safety, drive an Escalade, Hummer or Suburban. If you really need the extra 5 or 8 miles to the gallon, roll the dice and drive a Honda.
