America is represented by an eagle and the only thing represented by a jackass is the Dem Party and they truly deserve it based on what they have done in the last 4 years.

The Dem Party???

What in the history of the entire USA was as disastrous as Invading Iraq, killing 4300 US Patriots, wounding hundreds of thousands more, and bankrupting the entire US economy for a lie.

The stated goals of the Iraq war...
~Eliminate Saddam---done.
~Create a model stable democracy in the Middle East---- not even on the horizon... possibly never. At the moment civil war is likely again.
~Rid the world of Iraqi WMD'S--- there were none.  It was all a lie.
~Eliminate Iraq as a safe haven for AlQaeda--- Saddam feared an AlQaeda take over of Iraq and never allowed them in his country.

The USA has spent $1rtrillion dollars, made the USA less safe from terrorism, and other than one dictator being executed, have accomplished nothing productive.

Just picture the US Economy if the Iraq war never happened and the USA had $1trillion dollars to use for debt reduction, Jobs or US infrastructure.  As a plus, Saddam was an effective counter to the Iran regime.

The real winner in the Iraq war is IRAN.  I'm sure they thank GWB every day for helping  rid them of the  Saddam regime in Iraq... something  they failed to do in 25 years of trying.

And I hope you see the pres has proposed eliminating the mortgage interest deduction......typical tax and spend dem.

The dems tax us locally by exempting the millionaires from paying any property and school taxes whatsoever, the dems expect the struggling lower income people to pay the taxes for the rich.

Then these dems give all kinds of handouts to people to buy homes and buy cars and appliances.  And who pays????   The taxpayers of course!

Remember Clinton and Cuomo---"oh people must be able to own a home."   And so HUD started dishing out mortgages in excess of the purchase price.  Yep, tax and spend dem---and now we, who worked and saved for a down payment and purchased a house the correct way, now we have to probably lose our mortgage interest deduction.   And look at that task of trying to increase home ownership has done-----no down payment, get a mortgage in excess of the purchase price and people couldn't afford to pay.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

They dished out the 'affordable homes' right out of their own palms so they could collect taxes..........

here's the deal everyone gets mad when the Trump types own all the property...folks complain they dont own anything....then when the government
'hands out' a home the folks think its free until they realized the responsibility involved in the upkeep and taxes......America is based on those
who have a choice to make an effort, keep it up and be productive. It doesn't have to be the size of Trump Towers or anything like that. The
problem arises when out elected leaders show up to 'save the day' and strong hand the markets to hand sh*t out they know they shouldn't. Do we
really think when those 'free mortgages' were being handed out that the government wasn't subsidising?

Stop looking for Big Daddy Government to wipe your a$$. Life is hard. No one is going to fluff your pillow. Never have and never will. No one cares what
you do. You have what you have because you have what you have. I have what I have because I have what I have and no one cares what I do.

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

This will serve two functions that are, in my assessment, desired by the "progressives".  It will increase the tax revenues so that the growth of government and the redistribution of wealth can occur on a larger scale and it will destroy the desire and the ability of many Americans to own property.

The real estate industry and property valuations have been adversely impacted over the years by unreasonably high property and school taxes in many regions of the country and by irresponsible and wreckless interference by the federal government in lending guidelines that extended mortgages to those who were financially unqualified.  The latter led to what is known as the "sub-prime" mortgage crisis.  The administration is now considering the elimination of the mortgage interest deduction.

To further disincent home ownership, a provision of the health "reform" legislation will have an additional adverse impact.  The legislation contains a provision that, beginning in 2013, those making over $200K (individual) / $250K (joint) will have to pay an additional 3.8% tax to the federal government on capital gains over $250K (single) / $500K (joint).  While this requirement doesn't affect me, it will impact those in many real estate markets (e.g., Silicon Valley, Metro NYC, etc.) where salaries and real estate prices (and cost of living) are higher than in the Capital District Region.

I provide for your consideration the information on this government interference/intrusion into the individual right of property ownership that was guaranteed by our Founding Fathers.

John Adams stated:

"The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence.  Property must be secured or liberty cannot exist."

The "progressive" socialist agenda promotes the assessment by former President Ronald Reagan that:

"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."
