Who was the 'overseer' before?

Is there again no one that lives in town, or the county, that could fill this position?  While the mailing address is Schenectady, this residence is in Albany County.

http://maps.yahoo.com/#mvt=m&a.....tady%2C%20New%20York

The above link is a map of this address.  First, the gray line you see through the map is the county line (as defined in this image by County Line Road).  You need to still look a little farther to the southeast to see the location of this residence.  I understand that expertise is important, but isn't there ANY position that this administration can fill with someone that lives in town???

I don't know anything about this appointment -- so I am only speculating -- is it possible that the type of
training needed to supervise/oversee the paramedics is such that no one in the town or the county
qualified ???

Not too many medical doctors live here, lets be real!

Just like every other job that has come up that needed someone to be appointed since the beginning of the year, I don't know, like a confidential secretary?  There wasn't one of those west of the Hudson River?

I'm confused.

How can they have a "Town Clerk's report" when there's no "Town Clerk" (which, in Rotterdam is an elected position, with that person on a leave of absence) - shouldn't it be "Deputy Town Clerk's Report" to remain accurate? Perhaps someone can ask that question for me?

I would suspect that the criteria for a medical director for paramedic services is much more detailed -- than
for most other positions.  It would probably have to be someone who specializes in ER/Trauma and who is
on the ER staff at Ellis Hospital  --- so that would narrow the field of candidates considerably.

Personally, I don't know of any doctors who actually live in the town of Rotterdam ..
let alone any doctors who live in Rotterdam AND would be qualified to oversee paramedic services.

I'm sure that the TB put out repeated RFP's ... did extensive polling of town doctors offices, contacted medical boards for recommendations, talked to numerous professionals before deciding to go out of town (to Guilderland) to find a doctor that practices Pediatrics at St. Peter's (Albany) and has only 6yrs of medical experience.
