That's what you think. The Federal Government is calling the shots on health-care not the states anymore and that's one of the reasons for the lawsuit that has challenged the Obamacare bill. Right now the public option is Medicare/Medicaid .
Shadow, If you have a job making a good wage, medicare or medicaid are not available to you. If you have a pre-existing condition, many health care companies won't cover you, or will only cover you with a huge deductible ($5,000 - $9,000) a high premium, and a limit on total coverage. |

I believe Obama wants to put the uninsured in Medicaid and your friend would fall under that portion of the health-care bill he didn't specify whether you were working or not just the fact that you were uninsured. The high premiums that people can't afford is what has to be corrected, everyone should be able to purchase affordable health-care whether you have a pre-existing condition or not. |

Health insurance companies should be allowed to go beyond their state lines.
AARP advertises health insurance supplement coverage nationwide.
ALL health insurance companies should be allowed to do the same to stimulate competition. IMHO |

That should be one of the things addressed in fixing the problems with the health-care bill along with tort reform, eliminate the 16,500 new IRS employees to check on all of us. Eliminate the 15 member federal oversight committee which is supposed to decide what treatments you should get, eliminate the mandatory clause and put in affordable health-care in it's place. Insure people with pre-existing conditions and require treatment for all the poor {Citizens} who can't afford it for starters. |

Medicare programs (supplemental) can be advertised across lines, regular health insurance can't |
