What I said -- almost a month ago -- was that IF the Conservative candidate for Governor got less than 50,000 votes than the Conservative Party would no longer automatically be on the ballot in New York State. That is exactly what happened to the Liberal Party 8 years ago and the Right To Life Party a number of years back AT THE TIME when I made the comments -- Mr. Lazio was the Conservative Party's candidate for Governor and his poll numbers were dropping low enough to indicate that he would NOT win the 50,000 votes if he stayed in the race.
As for which candidates, I will work for ... that really is MY prerogative as a citizen. I have worked for GOP candidates in the past including my own uncle when he ran (and was elected) twice as Schenectady County Surrogate Judge. I supported and worked for the late State Assemblyman Clark Wemple who was a very good friend of the family. I have also worked for a distant family relative who was a long time State Senator in the State of Michigan. And truth be told, when I was in the 8th grade ... my mother, who was lifelong Republican, and ALL of her children actually worked on the campaign of Hugh Farley.
As for Mr. Salamone - I continue to extend the invitation for him to join the Democratic Party .. as for who I will help on future campaigns ... they have to take the first move and ask for my help.

What I find interesting about this whole thing is - Chazen would actually allow Angelo to go to the press with such an unfounded allegation. I would certainly think a company like Chazen would not want to inject themselves into this nasty political campaign.
I can't imagine Angelo released this tape without the blessing of Chazen upper management. I just don't understand why. If I was Chazen weighing the risk and reward of allowing this to go public, I would opt to stay out of it. Unless Chazen thinks Ang has a shot.
If I was Ang, I would be updating my resume in case I lose.(And omit his political career from resume)

By the sounds of the article, it sounds as if George let Chazen know that Angelo switching parties for the sole purpose of running against him may cause strains in the business relationship between Amedore Homes and the family members that run the business, and Chazen.
Does Amedore Homes have the right to choose what engineers they use? Sounds as if Angelo gets fired, it's because he's bad for business. I'm sure Angelo was aware of the possible fallout before he decided to run against the owners of his employers larger cutomers.
Money talks in business. Is Angelo more valuble to Chazen, than the possible loss of business with Amedore Homes?

He drew a large engineering firm, his employer, into a political sh!t storm that every business would want to stay clear of!! So if you put the two together, obviously his job said something to him about what GEorge had said to Joe..
