This is absolutely the worst kind of behaviour an elected official can exhibit. In my day, such behaviour would have caused all fine men of character, regardless of ideology, to rise up and join together and decry such behaviour. We fought to the death to build a government on ideas, that this government would be one of laws and not of men. To all of you that support this type of behaviour, I say to you please think about this. You are supporting the idea that a man is above the law. You are supporting the proposition that an elected official can threaten people who dare to run against him. You are promoting a win at all cost attitude towards elections. What about the people? We created a system for you by which the people would be served by individuals respecting THEIR interests.
