New York's congressional delegation was ranked among the lowest for business friendliness, according to a scorecard by the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council.
The group, which is headquartered in a suburb of Washington, D.C., ranked U.S. senators and representatives based on their votes that impact “the profitability and survivability of small firms.”
SBE Council said the top delegations were, in order, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Idaho, Nebraska, Utah, Alabama, Kansas, Louisiana, Kentucky and South Carolina.
To put a more positive spin on this for DVOR. NYS is the 5th toughest on small business. With Angelo Santabarbara and Susan Savage in Albany proposing MORE regulatory legislation, maybe NYS can be small businesses #1 enemy. We can only hope.
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
ALBANY, NY (WKBW-TV)-- "Today's news that the Tax Foundation ranks New York's tax climate as the worst in the nation is another clear message that business as usual must end in Albany," said Kenneth Adams, president and CEO of The Business Council of New York State, Inc.
New York fell to 50th in the nation in this year's Tax Foundation rankings from 49th last year. New York now has a worse tax climate than California and New Jersey.
"It is clear that in the last two years the Democratic Majorities in both the Senate and Assembly have made New York's competitive position worse by adding billions of dollars in new taxes," said Adams. "That trend must end in the next legislative session. New York must start to lower its tax burden to become competitive again and create jobs."
In 2008 New York was ranked 45th. In 2009 it was ranked 49th. And now is ranked a worst in the nation 50th.
