New poll asks who was better: Bush or Obama

A new CNN poll asked Americans who did a better job in the White House -- Barack Obama or his predecessor George W. Bush.

The results were close. With a 47-to-45 percent split, Obama beat Bush.

What’s most striking here is the drop from one year ago when Obama touted a 23-point lead when the same question was asked.

"Democrats may want to think twice about bringing up former President George W. Bush's name while campaigning this year," said CNN Polling Director Keating Holland in an article on the network’s website.

More people think Obama is doing a better job than Sen. John McCain would have done had he won, the poll found.
