The esteemed gentleman from Glenville,  County Legislator Bob Farley isn't satisfied with just
1 tax payer funded job .... and not even 2 tax payer funded jobs  .... he has 3 tax payer funded
jobs -- county legislator, adjunct professor at SUNYA, and Chief Counsel to the Senate Minority
Task Force on Homeland Security.
If the GOP regain control of the State Senate maybe Senator Farley will find a way to give his
son a 4th and even a 5th state paycheck.

WOW!!! Good for him. A very prestigious resume!!
I would like to see him on other government programs as they become available.

At least he has a job - and an impressive resume and isn't an insurance salesman or dog catcher, or something like that

Nothing wrong with being an insurance agent or a dog catcher.

Everything Farley says wrong!! I would like to see him thrown out of the legislature for being so fake! The only reason he is Chief Counsel to the Senate Minority Task Force on Homeland Security is because it was given to him because of his daddy.

Oh you mean like Kosiur's created patronage job?

BIG difference here is that Farley was qualified for the job....Kosiur is just a lump!! There was no place else to put the poor guy. And Savage owed him big time!!! Kosiur was disgraced just like Santabarbara will be at the hands of Savage!!

Savage v. Farley in 44th

By: WNYT Staff

SCHENECTADY - There's a race for the 44th New York State Senate District. Longtime incumbent Hugh Farley will face Susan Savage, the chairperson of the Schenectady County Legislature for the past six years.

Sunday afternoon outside Proctor's Theater and surrounded by supporters, Savage formally threw her hat into the ring.

She said she has a record of cutting property taxes and creating jobs during her tenure in the county and now she wants to take that next step and bring fresh ideas to the Capitol.

"I think we need new voices, we need strong voices for upstate New York in Albany and I think that's what I'll be able to deliver," Savage said. "I've brought a lot of change here. This has been a community that has been revitalized and I think we can do the same thing if we have the right people who are sitting in the seats in Albany."

Farley has represented the 44th district since 1977. He said he is proud of his record and doesn't think all incumbents are to blame for Albany's problems.

"There's a lot of anti-incumbency and I will agree with government disfunction, but the last time I looked one party controls every facet of the state government," Farley said.

Republicans need two more seats to take back the Senate.

To know Farley is to know of his frugal ways

Anyone who knows Sen. Hugh Farley understands two things about him: He is very frugal with his own money and with taxpayer money, and he is the least likely person you’ll ever meet to be given the moniker of “party guy.” That is why Susan Savage’s recent comments would be laughable if they weren’t so unconscionable.
I have known Sen. Farley for more than 30 years and, like all of us mortals, he has his faults. Also, I have had disagreements with him over the course of these many years. But when it comes to finances, you will find no more faithful a steward of the people’s money.
I worked for Sen. Farley from 1980-1990, and I was there when he ably served on the (national) Council of State Governments. Perhaps I would possibly give a second thought to Savage’s accusations if I hadn’t been there, and seen with my own eyes, just how scrupulously honest the senator is and how hard he worked for New York state on the council.
When Farley showed up for a national conference in Hawaii, he was on the receiving end of a lot of good-natured ribbing by his colleagues. While others took the time to change into casual summer-like attire prior to the start of their meetings, Farley arrived at the conference wearing the same winter wool suit he put on when he left the frigid Northeast. While many of his conference mates were chatting it up or enjoying a coffee break between sessions, Farley was in his hotel room, wearing that same winter wool suit, on the phone with his staff discussing legislation and constituent issues. I know; I was there. Now tell me: Does this sound like the kind of guy who is on a junket or vacation?
I haven’t worked for Hugh Farley for more than 20 years, so I do not have a vested interest in his re-election, save to say that he is worthy of my vote because he has worked honestly and tirelessly for the people of the 44th district. He has done so pinching pennies, nickels and dimes on behalf of the people of New York. I know; I was there.

Some people aren't crazy about Farley, but they will pick him over savage any day!!!! And all of the polls are proving it! But I hear Savage is going to go 'negative' the two weeks before election day! OH NO!!!

She already started and nobody cares. Everything backfires on her. She will never recover from that idiotic commercial. In her own neighbor nobody likes her. They are laughing at her in the County Building and plotting to remove her after she gets crushed.

Farley has made out quite well taking from the taxpayers wallets -----   He got 2 full-time  salaries at
SUNY-Albany (now 2 pensions) plus his State Senate salary and thens of thousands of "add ons" because he
was a long time leader of GOP circus in the Senate and chair of a committee.     He gets 10s of thousands of
dollars in contributions from Special Interest groups ---- banks, big financial corporations, etc. ......
and he managed to get his son 2 patronage jobs in the State Senate   (apparently  his son's law firm
doesn't make enough money for him to live on).
Oh -- don't forget the 10s of thousands on the political year mailers that he charges to the taxpayers and
the $3.6 million in "personal services" that he racked up for 3 1/2 years.   And I haven't had time to add up
the rest of the $$$ he has cost us.

Maybe he is a cheapskate with his own money .... but he is certainly spending our tax dollars on himself
and his family like there was no tomorrow.

His campaign signs should read "Another Taxpayer Family  SCREWED OVER by Farley"
