Box you have a lot of trouble admitting that over the years the Democrats as well as the Republicans have all had a hand in creating the condition of our country today. The financial, economic, mortgage, and immigration problems have been coming for years created by well meaning politicians who didn't have a clue of what they were doing to the country. We are now in a perfect storm and it's going to take some tough decisions to pull the USA out of the train wreck we're in. People will not like some of the fixes but there must be cuts in spending, reduced size of government, and balancing our budget if we are to survive.

On this we agree...
The USA has over 700 military bases spread through out the planet.  Hardly necessary now that the threat to our security is much more Economic than it is Military.

Every dollar spent on foreign bases is US tax dollars made here in the USA and sent overseas out of our economy.
Close most of these unneeded bases, and return US tax dollars to America while strengthening our security.

It seems an easy fix... Unless you happen to represent a US military Weapons or Support contractor.

I'm all for it, provided you reduce entitlements (which make up 50-65% of the fed budget, depending on who you believe) by the same percentage.

This is a few years old, but it's still relevant...

How much of the Federal budget goes to funding, pensions for Congress, health-care for Congress, along with Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Every one of the entitlement programs should be cut by 5% as well to help balance the budget.

really?....the way to make friends in this world is to buy them.....then when you tighten the drawstring on the purse the military is your protection...not to mention
your protection for those rogue idiots.......so I say leave the bases or....go to space.....those are the only 2 options....NASA hasn't done much for us lately...pathetic
I think sirius has done more.....although NASA does alot of fluff and stuff I would bet my life that they work for the military too......take your pick.....

the recession is generational....it doesn't matter who we 'blame' in office......the think tanks have been at work for YEARS......they allowed the dumbing down
of an entire generation in regards to $$......which we could actually be talking about trading buttons save for the ATM/credit card rise......it's a BRAVE NEW WORLD out there.
are we ready?.......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
