No doubt about it --- Andrew Cuomo won the debate and will win the General Election in 2 weeks.

Than Paladino will probably do a "Golisano" and take his marbles to Florida.

Actually, if I had to pick a winner (of the debate, not the ultimate outcome) I would pick redlich as having made the most points (and being the most annoying, but you don't get points for that)

Paladino said he would spend at least $10 million on the General Election campaign if he
won the GOP nomination.   So far he has spent just about $3 million --- only two weeks to go.
And reports are that he has yet to do a major media buy --- for advertising in the crucial last 2 weeks.

Cuomo has already spent 3 times as much and has reserved a lot of time for advertising in the last
2 weeks.

Could it be that Mr. Paladino knows that he is going to lose .. and just doesn't want to waste any
more money ????

$10 Million of "his own" money

Does that include donations made to his campaign ?

Yaknow, it's interesting, Sunday I got 6,000 lawn signs, and as of tonight, I only have 1,300 unspoken for

SOMEBODY seems bound and determined to get his name out there

Oh, and his message...

The gist of the radio report about his campaign -- is that except for the Albany and Buffalo media
markets -- Paladino has NOT bought ad time to the extent that most serious state-wide candidates
do for the last two weeks of the campaign.
In a state-wide race .. tv ads and radio ads are much more persuasive than lawn signs.
So the question remains -- why isn't Paladino spending the bucks on the tv and radio ads ???

Even politicians can't fight nature's call  (<----DVOR's addition)

The bathroom break and the debate format     (from Politico.COM)

Carl Paladino explained his bathroom break at the end of last night's debate this morning to WOR's John Gambling and also slammed the format of the seven-candidate event.

(h/t City Room)
Per the Times, Gambling asked, “Did you actually leave the stage because you needed the facilities?” “Yes, I did,” Paladino added, later saying, 'Stuff happens in life. What are you going to do?"
He also said the format of the event was "terrible," as his campaign manager called for more debates (something that Andrew Cuomo seems unlikely to agree to).
But Paladino also said he was happy with how he did and showed "that we're not the Angry Carl."

Cuomo over Paladino 63%-26%

The latest Siena poll taken before the debate, shows:
"Cuomo Extends Lead over Paladino to 37 Points with Likely Voters".
    It also reports:
"More than Two-Thirds of Voters View Paladino Unfavorably".

Yep -- less than 2 weeks out -- and I think it is pretty much over for Paladino.

You know a candidate is in trouble when his comment about the debates is "at least I didn't look crazy".

ROFLMAO -- I think the GOP in New York is in deep trouble after this poorly run gubernatorial campaign.

the other so called option is to police for medicaid/medicare fraud.....in which case the cost of all those public employees and their entitlements would
cost more than the fraud.....

ANYTHING the government offers gets ripped off because THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT A PERSON...IT'S A MACHINE......everyone wants a piece of it like
this big old pimp daddy......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Even though she was third in the voting, finished second on the conservative line behind Martin, could only vote for one, you somehow try to turn this into some kind of DiLeva majority mandate.  HUH????  Fuzzy Bush Math Kevin.....

I might add a majority of her votes came on the Dem line smarty pants.  Explain that one.
