As US Secretary of Housing, Andrew Cuomo set Federal Housing Goals that required FannieMae and FreddieMac to purchase hundreds of millions of dollars of bad sub-prime mortgages.

IT WAS CUOMO who lowered lending standards.

IT WAS CUOMO who eliminated down payments.

IT WAS CUOMO who offered 105 percent financing.

IT WAS CUOMO who pushed sub-prime mortgages containing a two percent increase in interest rates, guaranteeing they would crash.

IT WAS CUOMO who cost taxpayers $2.4 trillion and the value of our 401k's when the sub-prime mortgage market collapsed.

As The Village Voice correctly reported in 2008: Cuomo "turned the Federal Housing Administration mortgage program into a sweetheart lender with sky-high loan ceilings and no money down, and he legalized what a federal judge has branded 'kickbacks' to brokers that have fueled the sale of overpriced and unsupportable loans. Three to four million families are now facing foreclosure, and Cuomo is one of the reasons why."

When the ultra-liberal Village Voice blames Cuomo for lighting the fuse on the sub-prime mortgage meltdown, even mainstream media reporters sit up and listen:

Cuomo will clean up in this election.  Paladino is already eting his dust.  It will be Gov. Cuomo like it or not.  I am happy to support him.

Yes I heard they are trying to give Paladino a makeover with calming medication so he wont' look like such an anger addict.

I don't think that Paladino can undo the damage that he has done to his campaign or the
campaigns of GOPers across the state.

Sick of high taxes? Tea party is your only chance for salvation

I was shocked that Montgomery County supervisors proposed raising the tax levy by 21.6 percent in their tentative budget [Oct. 6 article].
Just last week I heard that nine of the top 10-taxed counties in the country were in New York. I assumed these counties would be in and around New York City, but Montgomery County was sixth out of over 1,800 counties nationwide! Look it up yourself at http://www.mytaxburden.org/propertytax/.
County Treasurer/Budget Officer Shawn Bowerman blamed the budget shortfall on the loss of stimulus money. I thought the stimulus program was only temporary, but there’s plenty of blame to go around.
I know that counties are subject to bad decisions made in Albany and Washington And shame on us voters who continue to support tax-and-spend candidates at local state and even national levels (because it all starts at the top).
This year’s political climate offers us a rare opportunity to make real changes in our lives. One of the major planks in the tea party platform is lower taxes. The media likes to portray tea party candidates as crazy. Personally, I believe re-electing those who ignore us is crazy.
I’ve heard that the definition of insanity is where you do the same thing and expect different results. At this point, what do we have to lose by giving tea party candidates a chance? But if you’re happy with your tax bills and the way things are going in the state and country, re-elect the same old names.
To me, the choice is clear — real change or the “status Cuomo.”

If Alfred has a chance of winning -- better to send a message by voting the incumbents out.

Did you see the debate???????????????  Paladino was a total zero.  The hooker (by her own admission) and Jimmy McMillan from the Rent is too High party had better responses than Paladino.  Even John Faso said Paladino was smelling up the place.  For a guy who is angry he just looked incompetent and uninformed.  Cuomo was the only candidate who looked Gubernatorial!  Actually the Madam took some good shots at folks.  Warren   Redlich was innocuous.  No wonder Cuomo was giving them trouble about debating against all candidates.  It lessened the opportunity to find out more about the candidates.

LOL

I'm wondering if you guys were watching the same debate that I was

Did nobody notice the brilliant strategy move made by whomever decided to let ALL the candidates debate ?

Paladino doesn't have a chance at winning NYC, that was supposed to go to Cuomo

So, when those two whackjobs from NYC came into the debate and said EVERYTHING that NYC voters want to hear, it destroyed Cuomo's lead in NYC over Paladino.

The votes for those two bananas will come from Cuomo supporters

This gives Carl a real chance at winning because it's the rest of the state that likes him

The only thing that Carl had to do in this debate was stick to the message, which he did

Carl didn't have to win the debate, all he had to do was to let the voters meet those two NYC guys

Paladino has a better chance of scoring with the hooker running for governor  .. than he has
of winning the election.

Are you guys kidding.  What a bunch of Rep hacks you are.  Paladino was laughable.  The hooker sounded better than he did.  You will all be calling Andrew Governor in November.    BT--what a bunch of bull.  Even your top Rep Faso thought he was horrible.  It's over.  Crown Andrew king NOW.

I'd rather elect the hooker at least she turns a profit and can balance her budget.
