I am relaxing and enjoying some old music from my youth  late 60's and 70's .. and it has
stirred up quite a few memories.   Listening to Diana Ross and Olivia Newton John .. my first
two super star "crushes" .. Captain and Tenille .. Pete Seeger and Bob Seeger.

Anyway -- so I was wondering "what are some of your favorite musical memories?"

So did you have a crush on the Captain or Tenille?

I went to high school outside Detroit for the first 2 years .. my first love was a girl that I met
at a football game -  our team was playing theirs the day we met at the refreshment stand-
she was really into the Captain and Tenille.
It may sound corney but Muskrat Love brings back some very cool memories.

The other girl that I was dating during that same time - was really into Diana Ross and Motown
music in general.   We really got into dancing to songs like "the rubber band man".

Halloween 1976 was quite memorable .. but you'll have to buy my autobigraphy to find out
about that.

I will look for it Job Lot . Thanks for clarifying. If you want to know, I prefer heavy metal, hard rock, and lot of other stuff. I remember listening to America, Gordon Lightfoot and Bread riding in my older brother's car when I was 5 or 6, and I remember Sinatra on the record player in our house as a kid too.

Eagles are definitely one of the best groups of that era and among my  top 5.

I love the song "Last Resort" among others.

Bread was great -- never hear anything more about them.

Sinatra is one of my favorites now that I am an "old man".

Abraham Martin and John by Dion
Has anybody here seen my old friend Abraham?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people,
But it seems the good they die young.
You know, I just looked around and he's gone.

Anybody here seen my old friend John?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people,
But it seems the good they die young.
I just looked around and he's gone.

Anybody here seen my old friend Martin?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people,
But it seems the good they die young.
I just looked 'round and he's gone.

Didn't you love the things that they stood for?
Didn't they try to find some good for you and me?
And we'll be free
Some day soon, and it's a-gonna be one day ...

Anybody here seen my old friend Bobby?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
I thought I saw him walkin' up over the hill,
With Abraham, Martin and John.

I also liked Fleetwood Mac and the Rolling Stones. Sinatra and Streisand are also favorites.

Striesand is full of talent but cold as ice. Ted Nash was a studio sax player who worked in most of the big west coast recording orchestras (his tenor sax is featured on Sinatra's version of 'Blue Moon') and he worked for Nelson Riddle and Billy may, doing most of Sinatra's albums in the 50, 60s. He always maintained that there wasn't a more talented singer technically than BS, but she didn't know how to tap her emotions and out them into the music, as we all know FS did so well, even overcoming any technical flaws he may have had for lack of training. I know this much about Nash and his work as a former sax player myself.

My musical favorites took a major turn when I hot college -  for a time I was really into The Clash - but
then I "discovered" the joys of Country music .. and have stayed there ever since.  My preference is
for "real country" like  George Strait, Alan Jackson, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, etc.  The
newer "pop country" (my term) is not as good.

early 90's - I have to add  the Scorpions "Winds of Change" and anything by the Pet Shop Boys
as being pretty good.

"Another one bites the dust"  -- a great song -- an appropriate for all those who lost in the primaries today.
