anything can be resolved. resolving it the 'right way' is another issue.

agreed -- but that is why we need to stop the name calling and partisan tricks .. roll up our
sleeves and work together on these issues.

none of those interstates that you mentioned are in Rotterdam .. so what is your point?

we should take advantage of our gift not squander it away

while i might not approve of BI's lack of attention to detail, he is trying

BI's energy, properly channeled could be turned into an asset for the town

having lived in a BI development - i can say at least we never had a drainage issue

well if I win the Megamillions - I will donate it to the town to build an Indoor Water Park for Dogs and Cats
at the old Curry Road Shopping Center.

What are you stuck in the horse and buggy days? Taxis and buses are called progress by the 'progressives'.

Since CDTA has cut back the number of bus lines in Rotterdam - not sure we have to
be worried aboutbeinf "full of buses".
Correct me if I am wrong - but there is NO bus line serving Curry Rd now between
5 Corners and Altamont Ave ?

All those new bus stops and road work on State St/Central Ave are part of a much bigger
project that was funded by Federal grant $$$ and State $$$ that was approved back when
Mike McNulty was our Congressman.
For new bus stops at  the Rotterdam Corporate Park   (not the "Industrial Park" anymore)
someone would have to get grants for the CDTA to do that.

Since CDTA is subsidized by the (taxpayers) government......can't they apply for grants themselves?

-lol-How about the buses with one passenger?-The driver. Don't forget improved service to the DSS Taj Mahal.

CDTA is a taxpayer sinkhole. They keep wasting money on bus shelters and idiotic signage. Check out Lark St shelter with the neon signs. Meanwhile, ridership keeps declining. But not salaries for overpaid "planners".

I see buses all the time with just a couple of riders. And yet the government puts pressure on them to keep routes and lose money! Hey...that's what happens when businesses take money from the government.....they do the dictating!!!

Last Spring -- when CDTA was cutting service in Rotterdam -- one of its employees (at a Rotterdam Town Board meeting) said that because ridership was up (due to gas prices) that their
costs had gone up and revenues were down.     If a bus which normally travels with only 20% of its seats filled suddenly increases ridership to 40% or 80% --- common sense and simple math would suggest that more paying customers on the same run = more revenue NOT less revenue.

Public transportation should be doing better with higher ridership - not doing worse.

Huh?  Where have you been

Yes, well, there is a bus that goes on Curry Rd from Hamburg to Guilderland Ave and down Guilderland
There are two buses that go on Altamont Ave, from Price Chopper to Ellis Hospital is one, and the other from chopper thru Mt Pleassant going out to Walmart.
There is one going out to Rott Square Mall, but I'm not sure exactly where that goes
And they have Hamburg St going out to Ellis Hospital but only a few time a day

And the buses coming into town run til 11 at night now and I believe on Saturdays

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
