Let me try to clairify, New Yorkers and Americans have a vivid memories of 19 Arab Muslims that flew commercial airplanes into the WTC in the name of Allah.
You keep avoiding this question... If they were 19 Arab Christians that flew airplanes into the WTC in the name of CHRIST... Would you protest a Christian Church being built near the WTC??? I wouldn't blame all Christians for the terrorist acts of a few Christians who murdered in the name of Christ, and I would support Christians attempts to heal wounds of those killed at the WTC. |

There was no outcry against Christians when it was discovered that the Federal Building was blown up by a Christian White McVeigh instead of a brown Abdul Muslim.

Nobody's asking for the use the government power to prevent it from being built. Society not Government is trying to appeal to those that want to build the Mosque. Citizens are asking to take into consideration the fact that a Mosque located in the area of national tragedy that took place on 9-11 will only act as a constant reminder that this attack carried out on America in the name of Islam. It is subjective and those Pioneering Americans need to grow some cajones.......there IS NO SACRED GROUND 9/11 OR OTHERWISE.. If they want a shrine to their loved ones take it to your home......everywhere across this great country there seems to have been an increase in 'shrines'.....I'm not saying no one feels bad but what happened to us(US)????? as if remembering tragedies and wearing pink/blue/purple ribbons makes us stronger.....OK,,,,I'll give'em that....then if they are stronger they wont give a damn about the mosque..... |

The two mosques in the WTC area are small and overflowing with worshipers, with some praying in the sidewalk and street. They usually turn worshipers away on busy days, so the new Mosque is necessary. Given the Conservative mood, the only acceptable place to build the Mosque is in the river... But there is NO BIGOTRY. |
