So what happened to the dispatcher resolution?

The town failed to post the position before they decided to hire someone, thus
they had to remove the resolution.

Hey don't be too hard on the supervisor......after all, he is just being told what he is told to do! Why do you think he was recruited? Why else would they recruit a senior citizen with all of the ailment he has? They should be ashamed!

Actually, Frank Del Gallo approached us about running ... Frank Del Gallo is NOT controlled by the Democratic Committee or anybody else ... and I am not ashamed to have Frank Del Gallo as my supervisor

now we know why some want to merge the clerk and rec of taxes office

The idea about merging the two offices -- came from me -- I never discussed it with anyone in Town Hall or on the committee.  As far as I know, it has       never even been discussed by anyone in Town Hall or on the committee.

The fact is that New York State Consolidated Law - Towns ... requires every town to have a Town Clerk .. and tax collection can be handled out of the Town Clerk's office or, as it has been done in some places, contracted out to the county -- if there is no separate office of Receiver of Taxes.

I only raised the issue -- to discuss ways that we can save tax payer dollars and still follow state law and get the necessary functions of town government accomplished.

the town clerk position as I have researched is also typically used for managing the flow of regulations proposed or mandates being considered and making sure the line of comunication is quick and in
a timely manor for the supervisor to get info......the clerk can basically make or break the supervisor by making things 'slower'/'unattended'/'not initiated' etc...........

so if the clerk is not in line with supervisor it can be a volatile relationship to no ones advantage......

True .. but the positions of Town Supervisor and Town Clerk   have been set up  .. by New York State .. to be separately elected .. since the 19th century.
So, it is possible to have a "poltical split" between the holders of the two offices.

The Town Clerk's Office should be  (and I am speaking generically .. no specific town in mind)  ABOVE partisan politics .. it is an office thathas the primary duty of public service and public confidence --- maintaining public records, handling public monies from fees (and in some towns - taxes), and issuing licenses and other permits.      Whomever holds the office of Town Clerk should check his/her  "partisan hat" at the door when coming to work each day.

MM you were right on Mullally - on the list!

and a payout to Darlene Mullally by the town of rotterdam would have been ok?
i dont see how

not a town resident
and worked for the taxpayers of this town for less than 9 months

hiring her was not about her pull it was about her payoff!

I told that over-priced carpetbagger yesterday that the Albany Kratz who put her here should pay for her retirement. It's bad enough
that she got the comp time we were told she would NOT get...now she expects the Town to pay for a sweet deal early retirement after
eight months of pretending to work?? She should be run out of town.

She has done nothing for the Town...and the only "special" skills I've seen is keeping up with e-mail blasts from Nancy Pelosi. (Yes, I
have seen them on her desk and questioned what she does on OUR time.)

HAHAHA, what a boondoggle! They bring in someone from Silver's staff just so she can get a golden parachute as a political kickback - paid for by the Rotterdam taxpayers???? WTF????

What mastermind is pulling these strings?

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
