This week, I received a mailings from Amedore and Farley saying how we need to reform Albany and cut spending --- interestingly --- both mailers were paid for by us .. the tax payers.
Farley is sitting on $300,000 in his campaign treasury and can't find a dime of his own money to pay for this mailing?
Amedore is sitting on his own treasury (can't quote an exact figure -- but it is in the 10s of thousands) and he sends us the bill for his mailing?
CHANGE ALBANY NOW !!!! Vote for Sue Savage for State Senate and Angelo Santabarbara for State Assembly. |

I may be wrong here, and correct me if I am, but this is allowed by the state. The state puts aside so much money to the political parties to send our mailers for 'information' purposes. They can't use the money to campaign with but can use it to communicate information to the electorate. It has been a common practice by both parties statewide. A benefit that Susan Savage and Angelo Santabarbara would most assuredly use, I'm sure!
Although I am not a particular fan of Farley since his inception of the metroplex, he 'may' get my vote. To early in the game right now.
As far as Amedore.....he clearly would get and has my support. He is one the most highest ranking in conservative ideology among other personal attributes. VOTE FOR GEORGE AMEDORE!!!
Susan Savage on the other hand, is clearly a tax and spend, government handout supporter and might I add..arrogant and disrespectful to her constituants. Just go to a county meeting and see for yourself. Susan Savage's Kosiur stunt, was yet another slap in the taxpayer's face. Let's not forget how Kosiur lost miserably to amedore and yet was rewarded with a $80K+ patronage job at the taxpayer's expense!! DON'T VOTE FOR SUSAN SAVAGE!!!
As far as AS.....he is in this for his own personal gain obviously. He clearly has an axe to grind and is using the blindfolded dems to accomplish his mission. DON'T VOTE FOR ANGELO SANTABARBARA!!! IMHO |

Savage has done so much to put Schenectady in its present condition so why would we want to elect her to a position where she could run the state into the ground too. |

The discription you gave fits just about every politician in Washington and Albany, that's why we need term limits very badly. |

So if a politician wears an expensive suit that 's/he' worked for, he's not a good politician? Does the same apply to a doctor? If a doctor wears expensive clothes that 's/he' worked for, he's not a good doctor? Would you prefer them to wear homey shorts and a tee shirt? I don't understand the logic here....really! |

Technically, the Farlery and Amedore mailings are legal and, yes, politicians of BOTH parties do send out taxpayer paid mailings .. HOWEVER .. my point is that ALL politicians should STOP using taxpayer dollars to send out these mailings.
Furthermore, it is the height of hypocrisy to use taxpayer dollars to send a mailing to voters telling them that Albany (or washington) should stop wasting our tax dollars -- THE MAILING IS WASTING OUR TAX DOLLARS. |

Bumble, the state provides each legislator NOT the parties with money for these mailings .. the State Senate and State Assembly spend more money each year on these mailings then the $11 million they hoped to save by trying to close those state parks last Spring.
I would rather the state spend $11 million on state parks than $11 million on these stupid mailings --- I can not think of a single mailing from a state legislator (Democratic or Republican) in my 30 years of voting that was worth reading -- the ONLY mailing that I ever received from an elected official that was worth reading (and keeping) was one that the late Senator Daniel Moynihan sent in the early 1990's about Social Security/Health Care Reform -- at least his mailings were educational and informative. The rest ( by legislators from both parties) were a waste of paper and postage. |

It's called franking and everyone does it. If by some flunk ANG or SS win State election they will do exactly the same thing. How anyone could support these DEMS from the do nothing County Legislature for higher office if beyond me. ANG has done nothing but switch parties and betray his supporters. SS is in for a big surprise. She is not running against some place holder who sneaks out of town midcampaign. Talked to some DEM Nisky committee people and they are all voting for Senator Farley. |

I know that it is called franking .. and it is a big waste of money.
I would hope that both Mrs. Savage and Mr. Santabarbara - if elected - would refuse to use taxpayer dollars to send these mailings.
I promise that if I am elected to the State Assembly in 2012 -- I would NEVER send out a taxpayer paid bulk mailing.
I guess it is possible that out of several hundred members of the County Democratic Committee you could find 1 or 2 who won't vote for a particular Democratic candidate ... and I can only speak for myself -- but I love Sue Savage .. she has been a great County Legislator, a great Chairperson of the County Legislature, and will be a great State Senator. |

Yes Sue has been such a wonderful advocate for the taxpayer and that's why the county is in the top 10 highest taxed in the country and the city looks like it's been neglected [except for the 2 block area around Proctors] and the infrastructure is falling apart, good job Sue S and Dems. |

You can't blame Mrs. Savage for the decline of the city and the county ... that started long before she entered politics.
If you look fairly .. at the years that she has been on the County Legislature .. you can see a slow but steady improvement in both the city and the county .... granted there is still a LONG LONG road back to being where we need to be .. but Sue Savage has been part of the solution that has led to the progress ... rather than sitting on the sidelines and complaining about what used to be. |

Farley has been in the State Senate for 34 years .. promising reform .. but never delivering. I remember his first campaign 34 years ago .. my uncle ( a GOPer) and my Mom ( a GOPer) thought Farley was the greatest thing since sliced bread. All those years in office .. and what has he accomplished ?? Not much.
It is time for a change. |

Sue S is also one of the reasons the taxes keep going up. She'll fit right in with the rest of the tax and spend Dems in Albany. |

County taxes have remained farily level .. under Sue Savage's leadership.
and again .. what has Hugh Farley done to cut our taxes ???
Hugh Farley collects a pension from the SUNY system .. where he was overpaid for years .. and collects a State senate salary ..plus extra dollars for his leadership position ... AND despite all that pension + salary + lulus ... and the $300,000 in campaign money that he has collected from special interests and lobbyists ... Farley still needs to spend tens of thousands of TAXPAYER dollars on a mailer .. that while technically legal ..is nothing more than an election year mailer ?????
Give us a break Hugh ... retire ... let REAL change come to Albany |
