Not only my opinion, but the opinion of Ronald Reagan Budget Director David Stockman. Not destroying... The GOP has already "destroyed" the U.S. economy, setting up an "American Apocalypse."
Highlights: ~"If there were such a thing as Chapter 11 for politicians, the Republican push to extend the unaffordable Bush tax cuts would amount to a bankruptcy filing. The nation's public debt ... will soon reach $18 trillion." It screams "out for austerity and sacrifice." But instead, the GOP insists "that the nation's wealthiest taxpayers be spared even a three-percentage-point rate increase." ~ Thanks to Republican policies that let us "live beyond our means for decades by borrowing heavily from abroad, we have steadily sent jobs and production offshore," while at home "high-value jobs in goods production ... trade, transportation, information technology and the professions shrunk by 12% to 68 million from 77 million."
As the apocalypse draws near, Stockman sees a class-rebellion, a new revolution, a war against greed and the wealthy. Soon. The trigger will be the growing gap between economic classes: No wonder "that during the last bubble (from 2002 to 2006) the top 1% of Americans -- paid mainly from the Wall Street casino -- received two-thirds of the gain in national income, while the bottom 90% -- mainly dependent on Main Street's shrinking economy -- got only 12%. This growing wealth gap is not the market's fault. It's the decaying fruit of bad economic policy."

And what does Obama and Dems do in response? Continue increasing the national debt and start more programs they can't afford. If the Dems vote as a block, they could repeal the Bush tax cuts tomorrow and the 'pubs could do NOTHING about it. They have all the votes they need, but Barry keeps blaming the minority for stopping progress,
The Federal reserve soon will have no choice but to start printing money. With that move, you'll starting seeing inflation increase at a scale that will make the mid to late 70's seem like the good old days.

What Obama does with the Bush Economic Meldtown is a different issue.
Stockmans editorial was directed at the CAUSE of our economic disaster, not at the solution. According to Stockman, it's already too late for ANY action that will solve the problem.

No, its not.. unless all you care about is wringing your hands and pointing fingers, instead of trying to solve the problem. And this is not all on Bush, part of the Real Estate meltdown was due to the Homestead act, started in the Carter years. Anyone who juices up the deficit like Stockman did is not a true fiscal conservative, I give his analysis no more weight than anyone else

Well maybe it is true... Maybe 55 and Shadow DO know more about economics than Ronald Reagan's personal choice to lead The Reagan Administration Economy.

George W Bush was a lot better of president than his detractors would be willing to admit. At least he had the sense to acknowledge that we ARE under attack from Muslim extremists and a variety of other terrorist thugs around the world. Obama didn't realize we were under attack until he got in the Oval Office -- after running for 4 years saying our nation was not threatened from outside. Now .. his (the current president) foreign policy seems to be ever evolving ... depending on how he is doing in the latest political polls or whether he is planning to "vacation" with his hippy, communist buddies or the more conservative money bags firends that he occasionally spends time with.
The banking/housing collapse can be laid squarely at the feet of the Summers-Paulsen-Geitner-Frank-Dodd crowd that called for deregulating the banking industry in the late 1990's and making mortgages available to everyone who had even a barely distinguishable pulse rate.

Bush IS NOT responsible for the WTC attack. and Bush IS NOT responsible for his own Katrina Response... and Bush IS NOT responsible for his own bogus WMD Iraq war for oil... and Bush IS NOT responsible for his Bush Economic Meltdown... and Bush IS NOT responsible for running away from BinLaden in Afghanistan... and etc etc etc (all of which happened on GWB's watch)
I wonder what Bush IS responsible for accomplishing under his watch??? Not the economy, not jobs, not war, not housing, not energy, not health care, not immigration, not finding WMD's, not capturing or killing BinLaden, not Finance, not the environment, not much of anything... ok in 8 years he did do SOMETHING... He gave the RICH the largest tax cut in history!

The ghost of Bush Past is still haunting congressional Conservatives... Check out the latest attempt to dignify the Bush Economic Meltdown...
Who says the Republicans favor the RICH??? NO WAY!
The graph below depicts the 'average tax cut per taxpayer'... and both plans seem to be similar UNTIL you reach the $half million dollar range... then one system favors All Americans, the other system favors the very rich. (Joint Committee on Taxation | The Washington Post - August 12, 2010)

I never saw a very rich person who didn't own a judge, mayor, congressman or senator, and a whole flock of tax lawyers.
Jobs are produced by business... not by the rich. There are many rich people who have no commercial employees... .their riches are made on wall street, and invested overseas. Other than domestic staff, they hire no one pay No taxes, and contribute very little to our society... they take, never give.
Weather GE or GM or or the corner bakery hires you today depends on their need, not on how much money they have. They don't MAKE JOBS for fun... they do it for profit... and often they make NO JOBS when the rich invest overseas.
If you just shoveled money out of the back of a pickup truck... it would all be spent here in the usa. Televisions, food, entertainment, the track, you name it... even if it were spent on illegal drugs... the money stays here and is often taxed here. Give a rich man a million and it may leave the country and be invested in competitors of local businesses in the guise of 'offshore tax dodges'.

If I didn't know better I'd say you were describing John Kerry, the Kennedy's, Soros, and many of the other Democrats who never paid their taxes and have hidden their money in Swiss banks.
So you begrudge people that make money? And you begrudge where it is spent? WOW! Settle down there Karl Marx.
Gee, sole proprietor Lucarelli sold Belveue Builders for hurdreds of millions of dollars to Stock Building Supply. Do you begrudge a local businessman for making that type of profit for his hard work? From what I understand he didn't go over seas, he reinvested locally.
You paint with quite a broad brush Box. The democrat buzz words have you brainwashed.
You must really hate Bill Clinton, HE'S RESPONSIBLE FOR NAFTA - HE'S A FREE TRADER!
JFK was one of the biggest post WWII tax cutter. Do you hate him as much a Bush?
Communist Obama is YOUR GUY! Government controlled business is your solution. Because govenment knows best.
It must be some kind of learning disability that takes over Conservative minds...
Where did I post that I'm against Republican Rich getting a tax cut??? HUH GUYS??? I said... Bush's Tax Cut for the RICH... white rich, black rich, chicano rich, republican rich, democrat rich, atheist rich, Conservative Rich... and Liberal rich.
The R I C H get the huge tax break at the expense of the Rest of us... those NOT RICH. We pay for their tax cut, got it??? It's like teaching Conservative kindergarten.
