Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said on Wednesday that he didn't back efforts to rethink and perhaps repeal the part of the 14th Amendment that guarantees birthright citizenship.

Two Fox Employees Get it Right ... this has to be a world record! The Rodeo Clown gets it right:
In a conversation with Bill O'Reilly Beck admitted that he doesn't think marriage should be a political issue. "You can argue about abortion or gay marriage or whatever all you want. The country is burning down...I don't think marriage, that the government actually has anything to do with...that is a religious right."
"Do you believe gay marriage is a threat to the country in any way?" O'Reilly asked.
"A threat to the country? No, I don't," Beck said, laughing, adding mockingly, "Will the gays come and get us?"
Beck quoted Thomas Jefferson: "If it neither breaks my leg nor picks my pocket, what difference is it to me?"

Not all illegal immigrants will become acceptable contributing members of society so it is imperative that all people allowed into this country should come here legally and become citizens through the same process as our ancestors did. We have to know where the immigrants are, what they are doing, and the ones that are here to do harm to our country and citizens must be deported. The border must be secured in order to keep the undesirable element out of the country.

Shadow... You better check your history books and census data... A HUGE number of Americans did NOT enter the country legally! America was an open border for much of it's history. Because your friends and neighbors are now productive citizens, don't assume that their ancestors were legal.

So, what's your point, just because it was legal at one time its OK to ignore laws now? Using your logic, I'm should start carrying a concealed hand gun to work since it was legal years ago.

We haven't been an open border country for a long long time and most who came here were hard working people looking to better themselves and their families not nuke one of our major cities. They learned English, learned our history, respected our laws, and became good citizens.
So, what's your point, just because it was legal at one time its OK to ignore laws now?
No 55. There have been immigration laws in this country since at least the 1790's, and they've been ignored for much of that time. Look around and many if not most of those you see here in this country have ancestors who entered this country illegally. This immigration debate is nothing new... what IS new is the politicization of the issue in an election year.

Whether they were ignoring the law or not is not really the issue. For a long time, illegals cost the taxpayers very little because there were no significant entitlement programs. Since 1933, and more so 1965, they do cost because of increasing government largess. We have a shrinking legal workforce due to boomers hitting retirement. The last thing we need is more non-documented workers taking up resources without paying their fair share of taxes.
