METROPLEX BONUSES The ABO report shows the Schenectady Metroplex Development Authority distributed $27,000 in bonuses in 2009 based on performance standards. Executive Director Jayme Lahut received a $14,500 bonus, boosting his base compensation of $133,000 to $147,500 for the year. Director of Development Scott Cietek received a $7,500 bonus, rasing his base salary of $97,000 to $104,500. Finance Director James Callander’s bonus of $3,500 raised his base salary to $98,500. Metroplex Chairman Ray Gillen said staff received bonuses for opting out of the authority’s health insurance program, choosing instead to become a member of a spouse’s plan. “That saved $24,000 for Metroplex, the cost if they stayed in the Metroplex provided health insurance plan,” Gillen said. Metroplex staff also received lump sum payments at the end of the 2009 in lieu of raises. “We have not given out raises since 2007. Instead of increasing salaries, we gave them an end-of-year-payment that is not added to their base,” Gillen said. Gillen does not receive a salary as head of Metroplex. He is paid $159,885 by the county in his role as commissioner of planning and economic development. County employees received raises in 2009.
So is gillen saying that it was only Lahut, Cietek and Callender who got these bonuses.....were were there more in addition to these three?
