Rolling Stone has an 8 page expose on the BP oil spill in the Gulf. It's actually quite impressive. It outlines the corruption in the MMS office during (and before) the Bush era, and how it was allowed to continue under the Obama regime (including Salazar's midnight 1/21 takeover announcements - where Dept of the Interior was a priority for Obama).

This expose really gives me a new respect for Rolling Stone. Facts, details and good investigative reporting - not something I would have suspected from RS, but I'm glad to see it.

The effect of leaving BP in charge of capping the well, says a scientist involved in the government side of the effort, has been "like a drunk driver getting into a car wreck and then helping the police with the accident investigation."

I'm in an area that if the Loop Current picks this up (as they think it will in the next 10 days), it will rapidly wipe out the Southeast beaches, commercial fishing, tourism and devestate economies for thousands of miles.  Please say a prayer for those affected, and those in the line of future fire.
