The Republicans lost because of the spoiler NNTP line....the Democrats won because of the NNTP line. Period. To attribute results to
anything else is either naive or deceptive.

I have to agree with you....in part. The dems did get a pass this turn around.

But the way the reps are behaving, history just may repeat itself!

What really happened? I'm as confused as curiosity. If Amedore was telling the truth, wouldn't his story at least be somewhat consistent? This smells funny...

So what George is really saying is that a whole room of people heard him wrong.  This isn't about he said/she said.  It's about he said and they heard.  Big difference don't ya think?  I guess it must be in the water that Rotterdam Republican committee can't hear well.

I have read about George's voting record on this discussion.  What has he introduced as legislation?  Anybody know?  I'm looking for leadership in my legislator.  We are sorely missing that.  Someone that can take a stand for the people and do what's right.  What his record here shows is that he votes no if something costs money.  That's good maybe, but what does he champion for?

Tedisco championed for animal rights.  Buster's law.  What's on George's list?

I agree and I don't sell homes for him. I disagree with all of this unsubstantiated 'amedore bashing'.The rotterdam rep party...or what's left of it, is apparently grasping at straws. It's just the usual slash and burn rotterdam politics. People are tired of. They clearly don't want to hear it anymore.

I honestly held the last administration at a higher standard. When I hear that ST AND JS AND MB are a part of GP's negative campaigning makes me think differently.  People are very disappointed in their actions and it will show on election day.

Again, it would be in GA's best interest to stay clear of the rotterdam political cesspool. Both parties are dirty and corrupt.

From what I understand, GP has benefited from our tax dollar by accepting metroplex money for his office building. GP has benefited from his 'town attorney' position by representing REMS, Golub, Galesi AND the town....all at the same time!

And to think that Carolina was crucified for taking tax money for her barn!

You should be ashamed of yourself. With Liberals everywhere, GA is the only person you can find to attack????

Give me a break. You're a partisan hack who has no idea what Conservative principles are all about!

You can respond when your handlers pull the right string to make your mouth move...

I can't believe what I'm reading.  I have read over and over again on this forum about voting out incumbents, but yet when the Rotterdam committee decides they want a new face, we are just rabble rousers.

George told a group of people his business mattered more to him than the fact that the reviewing bodies in Rotterdam didn't want to approve a zone change.  He is personally blaming the Republican  adminstration.  We don't have a tape or verbatim transcript, but doesn't that bother some of you?

As an assemblyman, he represents all of us.  Who did he represent when he implied that the reviewing bodies recommendations weren't worthy of being listened to?

You all think about George as a Conservative.  Is he truly representing ALL the taxpayers?  Carry some petitions to get him on the ballot and see what the registered Republicans have to say about him.  It's not complimentary by any means.  Have you all walked the streets for George?  Bumble is a blank so I'm guessing not and Brad is a Conservative so I'm guessing not.  I'm listening to registered Republicans.  Who are you all listening to besides each other?

BTW Brad--no one "handles" me. I have my own opinion in this matter which basically echoes the sentiments for which huskyhowls just conveyed.

Any leader who goes against his own party because he didn't "get his way" is reason to look for another leader. In life we all have many disappointments and we must accept them and move on...

Brad--are you trying to tell me that true conservativism is stamping your feet and going against people who have the same ideals as yourself, yet didn't get EVERYTHING they wanted so they revolt against their own? Isn't that what you are REALLY trying to say?

Are you making some type of accusation?  Can you clarify your assertion for me and the others on this board?

I was simply asking a question Bradley. Maybe you should keep reading the other postings and not get too wound up with me asking you a question. Thanks!

Rotterdam Republican Committee Meeting January 27,2010

Chairman Tom Buchanan opened up the meeting at 6:12pm. He began by making an endorsement to have Jim Longo be Chairman of the Town of Rotterdam. He went on to discuss the past election and he asked everyone to re-group in spite of all of the internal strife and chaos within the party.  Chairman Buchanan spoke about a flyer that went out for Nicky DiLeva (endorsed by democrats) shaking hands with Assemblyman Amedore. He said that the Assemblyman did not support Rotterdam in the past election cycle.

Gerard Parisi stood up and asked how the party can truly move forward without re-visiting some of the things that have happened in the past election. Some of those things being --Mertz--the primary--committee people not supporting the ticket, ect.

There was some discussion on whether or not to continue votes by proxy, but realize that by-laws must be changed to do so.

Assemblyman Amedore got up to speak. There was a lot of open dialogue with fellow committeeman regarding the past election.  Committeewoman Tracy Donovan asked Assemblyman George Amedore if he agreed or disagreed with Chairman Buchanan’s assessment in the role he played regarding the past election in Rotterdam. He agreed. He said that he was not asked to do anything until the day before the election and that he never knew about the DiLeva literature until it came out. Chairman Buchanan asked Tracy to repeat the question about supporting the Rotterdam ticket and Amedore continued to make excuses for his absence. Tracy explained to him that he is our leader, one in which we look up to and Rotterdam needed his help.  She asked if he realized that we (the committee people) go around and get signatures to enable him to run. Assemblyman Amedore  said “Do you think I like wearing these suits? I work for the people!” Tracy asked him why he never was around during the whole campaign until the night we lost and stood alone in the corner with a big smile on his face. Assemblyman Amedore shouted back,  "I didn't support the republican ticket because Steve Tommasone didn't give me my zone change in Rotterdam and it cost my family alot of money!". Then he said that he went to all the town gatherings in the county that night.

Next: the reading of the minutes from the last meeting and the treasurers report. A motion to accept by Joe Suhrada and seconded by Dick Karp.

Joe Suhrada made a motion from the floor to nominate Jim Longo for Town Chairman of Rotterdam.
Stanley seconded that motion.
Holly V made a motion to cast one ballot
A motion to accept by Dick Karp and seconded by Stanley M

Chairman Jim Longo got up and made an acceptance speech. He announced the date for the Reagan Day Dinner for April 22, 2010.

He made a motion to nominate Bob Hemsworth as a committee person.
Dick Karp made a motion to cast one ballot
Stan seconded

Chairman Jim Longo then made a motion to adjourn….Dick Karp accepted--Stanley Marchinkowski seconded.

This forum is entertaining.

In the past two weeks, I have been accused of being FactOrFiction and pg13.  bumblethru is accused of being Mertz, Rhinesmith, and several others.

Husky,  I think that the issue is that the credibility of most (but not all) of those who are aligned against George has been suspect for a long time.  This is viewed by many as being nothing more than internal squabbling.  Strife that will guarantee Democrat victories in town, county, and state elections.

You clearly don't understand conservative ideals if you believe that those who propose or support the creation of new tax districts and the creation of new government jobs are conservatives.  I'm not sure who you are suggesting is conservative that I am opposing, but suggest that some against who I ran may have been conservative in name, but not in deed or belief.
