Liberals would say "Let the millionaires GO and don't let the door hit em' on the a**!!!" (with a nasty and hateful scowl.)

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Why would someone make such a foolish statement ?   A person with a good imagination and ambition can make it almost anywhere.  Its more difficult in New York- ( you may need some talent too )

Post like this only show me how retarded someone  within a five mile radius of Proctors can be-  What kind of idiot would make a statement like that ?

I have been self employed since leaving college ( you were in kindergarten ) . I am a liberal capitalist- ( sounds scary ?) a solo entrepreneur,  who has made a living regardless of who is president .

You ought listen more to what your social worker and college academic friends say! Or read the other blog you deride, where people made these comments in response to millionaires leaving over high taxes. Liberals want everyone the same, same income, same results in life. That way it is "egalitarian." The problem is that liberal economic policy flies in the face of economic law. If all aviation engineers were liberals, planes would be made of concrete (for safety of course) and wouldn't fly. So new laws against gravity would be implemented in due time. Liberals are just hopelessly stupid and naive so I guess I could feel sorry for them if they weren't engaged in a serious effort to destroy our country by dismantling its economy. But maybe in the back of your mind you even understand that capitalism has brought freedom, prosperity and a better life to far more people than socialism ever has, even though you hate admitting it.

A "liberal capitalistic" is an oxymoron. GB is right the DEM mantra for decades has been "soak the rich" and chase every job producer out of State. There are no more rich left to soak. NYS budget is $9 Billion in the hole. Still they refuse to layoff or close useless Departments. Our "leaders" rather close State Parks.

The chickens have come home to roost. No money for bloated education/non-profits/arts. County unemployment the highest since the Depression. But your County is still hiring! GE has moved thousands of jobs to the Carolinas. When you have an anti-business government don't be surprised when you have no business.

You can't love jobs and HATE the job creators, and liberals HATE HATE HATE job creators.

Same doomsday stats.  The worst two in the nation to do business have the most people...so businesses will come here anyway and that is why you can tax them.  Production jobs won't do well here, but service jobs typically do very well in high population areas (hence why for example you see more Dunkin Donuts in a city as opposed to the country).  As most new jobs in the US are service jobs that is a good thing.

Try to support your family on those service jobs at Dun kin Donuts, McDonald's, Wendy's, and Dollar Stores. This is the reason that the DSS does such a booming business as people make more money on welfare than they do at these low paying service jobs.

People who have been around here much longer than you have used to say the same thing about GE. Count your blessings that you have a decent job because around these parts good jobs are getting much harder to find.

Everyone needs groceries. Travel to the south and southwest and see the kind of business environment in any of the cities that 20 years ago were backwater hillbilly towns. I know a business owner here who makes a living and he has a successful entrepreneur friend in the south who comes back to visit old Schenectady every year to see aging loved ones. The successful southern transplant always says "If you did the kind of things you do here in my city, you would be a huge millionaire because it is so much more conducive to do business down there." to the local business man. There is a world of difference is attitude, tax policy and welfare policy that is astounding. Also the ability of the consumer to have disposable income TO SPEND rather than have to squander on property taxes that are sometimes 5 or 6 times as high here compared to what they pay down there. You see a commercial property here that pays $25,000 in property tax, where down south it might be $4,000 or $5,000. So where does that money come from to pay that wasteful and unneeded bill? if a homeowner here pays $8,000 in property tax here, that is a big nut to earn. Down South that could be $2,000 or so. If you are earning 40 or 50K what percentage of your take home IS THAT, and what does it leave to pour into the economy locally?

...don't get me started on the highest enegry prices in America either due to TAXATION!

Yeah, you still need groceries, but are unable to spend on other items or have to pare down just to afford some of them

Service industries aren't just donut shops though, they are dentists, doctors, eye glass stores, clothing shops, liquor stores, etc.  I'm no economic expert so please don't take this post as anything other then what I see.  People live here, so there is demand for services of ALL kinds. So companies come in, and then need to hire so they bring jobs from construction, maintenance, sales, and management.

The sad reality is that manufacturing jobs are not just leaving NY, they are leaving the country.

You need to visit south of the Mason-Dixon line to see real economic activity and vigorous growth.

NYS did well to educate the service industry....when I was in high school the guidance counselors were pushing social workers/therapists of all types, anything that would resemble a commune of their day.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.
