NY one of the worst states to do business, CEO study says Texas still tops for business, CEO study says
New York is among the worst states in which to business. Chief Executive magazine on Thursday ranked New York the 50th-worst state for business. The ranking go to 51 because the District of Columbia was included. California was dead last............>>>>..........>>>>............Read More: http://albany.bizjournals.com/albany/stories/2010/05/10/daily39.html?surround=lfn
As long as the state has Schumer, Silver, and rest of the dim wits in the State Congress running this state things will never improve. Their solution will be to raise taxes on businesses and residents alike.
Don't forget to add Savage and Stratton to that hit list. The voters keep demanding more services instead of more tax cuts.
In Albany County furloughs again this summer to save money-but here nothing. Residents seem to like paying the most for the worst government. BTW, how's the Savage for State Senate campaign going?-lol-
It would appear that too many in the city are uninformed or they're all down at the DSS eating at the trough full of slop that the city feeds them. When the money runs out the ones who have been getting all the handouts will be the first to turn on the administration just like they are in Greece.
Until the politician get out of bed with the unions, NYS will never change!
As far as the furloughs..............I'm against excessive state jobs. Most are lazy and there are too many. HOWEVER.....the state signed a contract with these workers to provide wages and benefits. It should be included in the budget as a staple item. But no....it appears that the state politicians just kept spending like drunken sailors dismissing any responsibility for previous debts.
If we knew we had to make a mortgage payment (contract) every month, wouldn't common sense tell us to figure that into our budget? DUH!
As far as doing business in NYS..............we aren't! Businesses are taxed to death and residents don't buy because they are taxed to death! Don't they get it yet?

Money will never run out. They will just continue to raise taxes and add fees to anything that moves.

When people aren't working there's no money coming in and no way to pay for their homes, food, and family and the government will be out of money to bail them out. They can raise taxes all they want if there's no one left to pay them then it's lights out.

There will always be state workers. There are more public sector jobs in this state than private sector.

There in lies the problem, how much money does the public sector generate for the state, where does the money to pay their salaries and benefits come from, and when the private sector is gone where will the money come from to fund the state?
Small business owners NOT on the teet already KNOW THIS. Only the families that are connected and get the grants, PILOTS, interest free loans and other goodies are thrilled with the biz climate because they all sucked the right _ _ _ _.
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
ANDERSON, S.C. -- People looking for work in Anderson County were eager to learn more about a paper products plant that South Carolina officials said Friday eventually will employ 1,000 people.
"You know a number to call?" asked T.J. Evans, a 27-year-old electrician who has been looking for work for three weeks.
Evans and others looking for assistance at the Anderson County employment office said they would like to apply for work at First Quality Enterprises Inc.
Gov. Mark Sanford and other officials were on hand Friday to announce that the Great Neck, N.Y.-based company is investing $1 billion to convert a former BASF plant into a series of buildings that will make paper towels, toilet paper, diapers and feminine hygiene products.
Production jobs at the new plant will pay more than $17 an hour, said Kara Borie, a spokeswoman for the state Commerce Department, and the plant will have engineering positions that will pay significantly more.
Hiring will begin later this summer and fall with the first 200 positions, Borie said.
