BT:  Your friends may not be observant.   I suggest you consult a rabbi.  G-d's name is not even  written out in the Hebrew Bible.  The Board of Rabbis of the Capital District is currently lead by a reformed rabbi, so his teaching would be the most liberal but even he does not write out the name of G-d.  In the past two weeks, I have had reason to receive notes from seven local rabbis--all have referred to G-d, not one has written out the word.  Sorry.  Please understand not everyone observes this law.  Not everyone keeps holy the Lord's day by attending services each week either.  Blacky this has nothing to do with who the better Jew is and I might add that Muslims call G-d by 99 different names---not just Allah.  Better yet, who's the better Italian--how many ate sauce today?  I did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are we back to that term limits thing again?? Why is it that the existing controls on term limits are never acknowledged? The electorate
can limit any term they wish. Just because they do not exercise their power to do so does not mean that these built-in controls do not
exist. The Tea Partiers and similar movements are reaffirming this fact as we speak.

I'm wondering if Frank (the lapdog) Salamone, the one about to get a primary in his town board race, will go on the record answering this-

Who does he support for assembly and will that change when GFP, his idol, is no longer a GOP candidate?

For those who are not quite getting the personal motivations of all the players, let me give my take.  Parisi is arrogant and blames everyone else when his incompetence comes to light.  Passed over for the assembly seat because his baggage stinks to high heaven and for a million other reasons.  Tommasone is stoking the committee people that still support him, so that he can exact revenge and line himself up for a comeback.  Salamone wants so badly for someone to pay attention to him and since Parisi gave him an office and some files he's indebted to him for life.  Donavan is being promised the chair of the local party and MB is being promised another run at county leg.

How's that for starters?

And while this is going on, the dems are winning everything.

Equal representation?? Hardly! This is what causes so much dissension at town board meetings. Not 'everyone' is being represented. Not everyone is being heard. People need a balance.

GP, FS, ST and MB are NOT electable. Why aren't the local reps looking to BM or MO? What's wrong with this present committee?

How many committee members actually 'attend' these meetings? Or do most just hand in proxies and hope for the best?

The Reps need to realize that Brian and Michael were popular candidates in the last election.   My feeling is that they developed and ran on the NNTP line just one election too early.   Today, the people are clearly fed up with our economy and government and are FINALLY ready for this choice.   The voters may have been too hesitant with the NNTP platform...let's face it, they were running an honest campaign and Rotterdam isn't accustomed to that practice.

So now is the time for the Reps to embrace the individuals who can win the election for them this fall and then again in 2011.

Zorro - i dont have enough gin in my system yet to handle all that info but your puppy dog already went on the record peeing on GA's leg

" Rotterdam committee member Frank Salamone said he signed the petition to determine what options are available for the seat, not as a call to oust Amedore. He said the incumbent hasn’t been as vocal on certain issues as some committee members expected and didn’t come to the local party’s aid in its time of need.
“George upset a lot of people,” he said. “He hasn’t really been doing anything for us.”
Like Barrie, Salamone said he would support a run by Parisi, who is serving out the year as an appointed Town Board member, the sole Republican on the board. But Salamone reiterated that the drive for a committee meeting was more focused on discussing potential candidates.
“We’re not saying this is done,” he said. “We’re saying we want to investigate whether there is a better candidate.” "
