Heh, the Feds didn't even call Emirates airline to tell them about the change in the no-fly list and to watch for this guy:

bumbleT has it figured out . Why didnt  the Feds  call the airline ? ( Emirates Airlines ) - because it is owned by Muslims and they would have tipped off the bomber because he was Muslim too -

What did authorities know about Faisal Shahzad? Terror task force noticed him in 2004
By: Byron York
Chief Political Correspondent
05/05/10 9:02 AM EDT

Deep inside a New York Times profile of the accused Times Square bomber — “From Suburban Father to a Terrorism Suspect” – there is this:
George LaMonica, a 35-year-old computer consultant, said he bought his two-bedroom condominium in Norwalk, Conn., from Mr. Shahzad for $261,000 in May 2004. A few weeks after he moved in, Mr. LaMonica said, investigators from the national Joint Terrorism Task Force interviewed him, asking for details of the transaction and for information about Mr. Shahzad. It struck Mr. LaMonica as unusual, but he said detectives told him they were simply “checking everything out.
In recent terrorism cases, the Ft. Hood shooting and the attempted Christmas Day bombing, we learned that authorities knew about the perpetrators before the attacks took place.  It seems reasonable to guess that, given Faisal Shahzad’s background, travel patterns, communications habits and associations, the authorities knew something about him, too.  The next few days might tell us a lot.

P.S. — Some news organizations are reporting that U.S. authorities knew nothing — absolutely nothing — about Shahzad.  The Washington Post, for example, reports that Shahzad “was allegedly able to train with terrorists in Pakistan, return to the United States to assemble a car bomb in Connecticut and park it in Times Square without anyone in the nation’s vast counterterrorism apparatus knowing anything about it.”  We’ll see if that turns out to be the case.

Pay no attention to Fox News’ take on terrorist
Joe Conason is a nationally syndicated columnist.

Within hours after the car bomb fi zzled in Times Square, the nonstop noise resumed on Fox News and talk radio, warning that the Barack Obama administration is failing to protect us. Evidently, the president and his aides don’t say “terror” and “terrorism” sufficiently often to make it go away, according to the professional noisemakers. If you believe that kind of nonsense, then you are listening too much to the professional noisemakers and may have caused damage to your
    mental health.
It is not surprising that the right-wing media are preoccupied with ideological clowning and cheap partisanship, even at a moment when hundreds of Americans just barely escaped peril. This vapid entertainment was captured perfectly in a Fox News video segment (which can be viewed on the Media Matters for America Web site). At the very moment Fox anchor Gretchen Carlson groused that government officials “refuse to say the word ‘terror,’” the electronic scroll directly beneath her image reported that Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano had indeed referred to the car bomb as “a potential terrorist attack.”
Such semantic carping suggests that the right-wing talking heads cannot find — or even invent — a serious complaint about the Times Square incident. Perhaps that is because the response of government at all levels so far has been effective. The blocks surrounding the bomb were swiftly evacuated, and the bomb squad quickly disarmed the device. Then the suspected perp was apprehended within 48 hours, just as he seemed to have been attempting escape on a flight to Dubai.
So whether government offi cials talk about terrorism — or use it to frighten the public, as George W. Bush administration officials so often did — seems to have little to do with whether they can adequately protect us. .................>>>>................>>>>................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r00700&AppName=1

By the grace of God the bomber was stupid and used the wrong fertilizer to try to detonate the bomb. The Suv was loaded with explosives, parked in Times Square, a small detonation occurred, and this proves that I'm protected how? Three attacks on American soil that were avoided by failed detonations so I figure the law of averages is against us and it's a matter of time b4 we are successfully attacked. Don't close off the southern border keep letting every illegal and terrorist walk into the country and kill us. Bush was no better he didn't close off the border either and until our borders are secure none of us are safe. I don't care what you call these people just keep them out of our country. The President of the United States has to accept responsibility for things that happen on his watch and take corrective action instead of point fingers and try to blame someone else.

Well he has called upon Congress to act and presented his ideas, which I agree with in principle.  Now lets see if they can get it done.  So far however the reps aren't trying to push anything out and have filibustered every attempt.

There is a law on the books right now that makes it a felony to enter this country illegally so why do we need any more laws just enforce the ones we have.

No, we don't excuse attacks.  No where did I say that, but I understand sometimes you get confused.  But let's not go demonizing other religions because it makes understanding the world easy, because it isn't, and to make such broad strokes puts everyone in a bad light.  If Christianity were judged in such a negative light based on it's most extreme (WBC, Abortion doctor killers, Catholics, Mormons) then it can also be broadly considered an bunch of wackos.  Hell, one read through of the story of Sodom and Gomorrah is enough to think Christians must be daughter sacrificing freaks.  However, we know better for the most part.

Islam has as many different groups  as Christianity, and lumping them together is like saying Lutherans are bad because crap the Orthodox Christians are doing.

Nobody's lumping together ALL Muslims, I don't know why you continue to make that assertion.  I thought I made it clear that I don't believe ALL Muslims are terrorist. I'm not judging ALL Muslim teachings.

You have done a wonderful job documenting that crazies are on both ends of the ideological spectrum throughout history.  You have Hitler's twisting of Christian doctrine and his belief in the occult, you have those who bomb abortion clinics tend to be a small fringe element driven by fanatical Christian teachings, and Militias tend to be anti-government white Christian males, the KKK was/is a racist organization based off of a warped interpretation of Christian Doctrine.  I have no problem generalizing these statistical facts.  My question is... Why in these modern times must we ignore the fact that the crazies trying to kill Americans through acts of terrorism come out of the Muslim Community with a warped teaching of the Muslim faith?  Why is that so hard to admit for many on the left?

Maybe I mistook something you said as something Bumble said... but I do agree their crazies are a little more active in their craziness and yes, that is an issue. I thought you were saying that Islam was a violent religion and I was just making the case that they have crazies who use it as a reason for violence.

And I agree Carlin was an idiot at times, but some of his lines were very true.  That is how a lot of comedians make their money today, saying things that are true and ironic.

When you get caught for the first time it is a misdemeanor and the second time you get caught it's a felony.  llegal Immigration Laws

Most Americans know our basic laws regarding illegal immigration. It is illegal to enter the United States without permission. The first time an illegal immigrant is caught in the US it is a misdemeanor civil offense. This is because we want to be able to quickly return illegal aliens to Mexico or Canada, when they are caught at the border without the rigors of a jury trial.

After the first offense, being caught a second time is a felony!

Firstly MOST Americans dont know jack- and if you live in Schenectady/Rotterdam you know even less.  Because the first basic law is- its illegal to hire anyone illegal.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Very easy fix here.....take all the crosses, rock of the dome and mecca,,,,,fill a rocket and shot them all to the moon.....then all those folks can make
pilgramages all they want.......this will also help research/developement/industry and the economy(no tax exempt status allowed)

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
