Congress must act now to pass real financial reform if we are to eliminate the unconstrained abuses that caused the economic collapse of a year ago. Our financial/banking system has grown too powerful, greedy and destructive — not just of our economy, but of our democracy, through the many millions of dollars and thousands of lobbyists working to manipulate the political system in their favor. We need to demand of Congress that the system be reformed now. These amendments are absolutely necessary if that reform is to have any chance at success: 1) Brown/Kaufman Amendment, to break up the too-big-to-fail banks; 2) Merkley Amendment, to ban conflict-of-interest trading by banks (PROP Trading Act); 3) Lincoln Amendment, to regulate derivatives; 4) Paul/Sanders Amendment, to audit the Federal Reserve, and; 5) Cantwell/McCain Amendment, to reinstate the Glass-Steagall Act. Those who have treated our banking system like their own personal casino, while they secretly placed their bets against the American people, have established conclusively that lack of regulation only breeds fi nancial instability. Congress must act now to reintroduce prudent discipline to our fi nancial markets, otherwise we are just marking time until the next Great Depression. Write your senators and congressperson.
DEPRESSION!!! People who emerged from the depression, emerged with a sense of value....both work and monetarily! They took nothing for granted and had work ethics that today's workforce can't hold a candle to. So what is left to pass on to the next generation????
When the businesses failed in the GREAT DEPRESSION, new ones emerged and helped rebuild this country's economic system. Businesses do not need 'saving'. They need to be rebuilt. After the GREAT DEPRESSION, there were safe guards put into place so it wouldn't happen again......well it did....or almost did.
A DEPRESSION was the only hope for the younger generation to excel. To start fresh. They did it in the 20's & 30's.....they should have let it fall and fail! People would have survived and emerged better with a more solid, rebuilt foundation. IMHO

“How fortunate for those in power that people never think.” Adolph Hitler
There is ALWAYS financial instability......we are pioneering Americans(or we used to be)......it doesn't matter if there are $$'s or buttons to use for trade
TRADE WILL ALWAYS HAPPEN......
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS
