And what is the issue with rezoning?  Why not allow a realty business that bought apartments use them as residential?  Who cares how they were zoned 70 years ago, stupid laws are all over the place, it's nice this TB got it right.

First of all it was NOT a realty business.  It was the US Government (exempt from zoning requirements).  So, if we were using you logic, if the government put in a nuclear weapons storage facility & then vacated, we should allow just anyone to come in & enjoy the same exemption privelidges the govt has???  WRONG.  It clearly stated in the purchase contract that the buyer would be responsible to follow all local zoning as well as any other municipal laws that the property for sale was located in.  They not only did not do there homework, but ILLEGALLY hooked into their neighbors sewers after specifically being told NOT to & then tried to sue the very people they were taking advantage of.  Not to mention they have had no inspections, no building permits to renovate some of the buildings & just keep thumbing their noses up to this town.  I could go on and on, but I don't think it would matter to you.  Anyway, to answer your original question, "What is wrong with rezoning?"  The answer is nothing, as long as you do your homework & determine the long range impacts on the entire community.  This TB did not and, might I add, they didn't even follow the process that every other person/business must follow & for that little stunt we now are being sued.  Too bad the TB didn't use the same logic on the Sync issue that they did on the halfway house isse.  That is what we (many of the Town Residents) called them to task on.  They just turned a deaf ear to us.  I guess this TB is NOT the voice of the people they professed to represent...

Maybe if TB members needed to be re-elected every year, they'd do a little bit better remembering the will of the people and working towards that goal to further their employment.

No you reader of 3rd grade books, the company that bought them (Sync) is the realty company.  Do you think there are long term impacts of having people like in apartments that have always been apartments?  Can you understand that?  So while yes they should apply for re-zoning, can you honestly argue the impact?  As for the TB not using the due process, it is the last peice of crap TB that screwed Sync into this situitation.

No people made stupid points, like the look of the property, which yeah the Zhang's didn't put money into for sure till they knew they were keeping it (however the inside looked nice).  The TB was fixing what you reps did as a TB the last two years.

They did not illegally hook in, they paid them for it's use.  And to that point...who cares? That is a deal between two businesses.

before regency came onto altamont ave, that was a business that became an apartment and now back to business........ there are residential properties degenerating on altamont as we speak.. trying to be sold as....

and now thanks to this town board...... an apartment complex is in the middle on a industrial zone, forget the people, forget the devolopers, take emotion out of the equation.     elected officials need to do what is right...........

Sorry Stein, but I won't engage into the insult mode with you.  You couldn't be more inaccurate on your account of "facts."  I'm sorry for your lack of correct information.  If you really did some research, you would see all the facts are on paper.

Brad I gotta say I hope you have no intention of ever running for office again. Your response to people who disagree with you is not the type of attitude I'd expect from someone running for office. You realize that if you are elected, you'd be representing all the people right? It's one thing to disagree with people, I do it all the time on this board. But to call people who disagree with you pissant is a bit childish. I have no intention of ever running for office and even I try to be respectful in my disagreement.

Politicians on both sides of the fence really bother me.  Reps have flip flopped on the REMS issue.  As soon as people heard about more taxes they dropped it and wanted to put it to vote.  Hell they got in trouble with their "save rems signs"  The Dems are just as useless, they wont even take a stand on the issue, instead try and pass a vote at midnight.  There is no way this tax will not go up as the years go on, not enough people are aware of how ems system works or what choices they actually have.  Not enough people are informed and no one will show up.  Is the adminstration going to give e the electorate all the information they need to make an informed decision????????l

Whether you like what they did or not doesnt matter any more.  But at least those NNTP people actually took a stand on something.  So good job to them.  Are they gonna put a horse in this race??

I don't think it would be affected. Mohawk, as always, has been on standby - ready, willing and more qualified to assist.

Sorry supporters, REMS is basic life support (BLS) - Mohawk is ALS (Advanced Life Support) - which would YOU rather have for yourself, your parents or someone you loved?
