'South Park' Creators Could Face Retribution for Depicting Muhammad, Website Warns By Joshua Rhett Miller - FOXNews.com
A radical Islamic website is warning the creators of "South Park" that they could face violent retribution for depicting the Prophet Muhammad in a bear suit during an episode broadcast on Comedy Central last week.
RevolutionMuslim.com posted a warning following the 200th episode of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's "South Park," which included a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad disguised in a bear suit.
A radical Islamic website is warning the creators of "South Park" that they could face violent retribution for depicting the Prophet Muhammad in a bear suit during an episode broadcast on Comedy Central last week.
RevolutionMuslim.com posted the warning following the 200th episode of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's "South Park," which included a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad disguised in a bear suit. The Web posting also included a graphic photo of Theo van Gogh, a Dutch filmmaker who was murdered in 2004 after making a documentary on violence against Muslim women.
"We have to warn Matt and Trey that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show," the posting reads. "This is not a threat, but a warning of the reality of what will likely happen to them."
Reaching by phone early Tuesday, Abu Talhah al Amrikee, the author of the post, said he wrote the entry to "raise awareness." He said the grisly photograph of van Gogh was meant to "explain the severity" of what Parker and Stone did by mocking Muhammad.
"It's not a threat, but it really is a likely outcome," al Amrikee said, referring to the possibility that Parker and Stone could be murdered for mocking Muhammad. "They're going to be basically on a list in the back of the minds of a large number of Muslims. It's just the reality."............>>>>................>>>>.............http://www.foxnews.com/enterta.....-depicting-muhammad/
'Muhammad' now a dirty word on 'South Park' Now "South Park" can't even say the words "Prophet Muhammad."
After last week's episode of the Comedy Central series sparked a threat (and yes, it was certainly a threat) from a radical Islamic website, the network has cracked-down-for-their-own-good on creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone during last night's continuation of the show's storyline.
For those who missed the drama, the show's 200th episode last week mocked the one "celebrity" that the series has been largely unable to depict, the Prophet Muhammad, who was hidden from view in a bear costume. A U.S.-based website RevolutionMuslim.com then warned Parker and Stone they could end up like Theo Van Gogh (the Dutch filmmaker who was murdered by Muslim extremists after depicting Muhammad on his show) and even posted the address of the show's production office. The site has since been shut down.
Last night, "South Park" continued the controversial Muhammad storyline, but with a key difference: every instance of the words "Prophet Muhammad" was bleeped out, making the episode practically incomprehensible, especially to anybody who missed the previous week.
The character of Muhammad was once again also hidden from view, covered by a large block labeled "censored."
A Comedy Central spokesperson confirmed it was the network's decision to bleep the words.
The Muhammad content is also not available on the South Park Studios website.
A message on the site states: "We do not have network approval to stream our original version of the show. We will bring you a version of [episode] 201 as soon as we can."
Ironically, "South Park" apparently shows an image of the Prophet Muhammad briefly in its opening credits that has gone largely unnoticed.
UPDATE: Parker and Stone comment on "South Park" censorship:
In the 14 years we've been doing South Park we have never done a show that we couldn't stand behind. We delivered our version of the show to Comedy Central and they made a determination to alter the episode. It wasn't some meta-joke on our part. Comedy Central added the bleeps. In fact, Kyle's customary final speech was about intimidation and fear. It didn't mention Muhammad at all but it got bleeped too. We'll be back next week with a whole new show about something completely different and we'll see what happens to it.
I guess the Muslims don't get our satire yet, huh? Did anyone actually watch the episode? There wasn't ONE religion that wasn't mentioned.
I wonder if comedy central would have edited it if the christians, or jews or hindus complained.

This shows how liberals fight for their First amendment freedoms. The slightest threat, they cave in and pull up a white flag. If they can't take a joke they shouldn't be watching South Park,

Have you see Religiouious? Bill Mahrer goes after all religions and there is no caving. Sorry bud, people just caved, not liberal caving. Be angry, but be angry about the correct thing. Otherwise you're just a fool.
Any group is allowed to be offended except Muslims or they might throw a violent hissy, and behead, burn or stone someone. Liberals just want to make sure we don't inflame the situation, then censorship becomes OK, in this regard. WHENEVER these members of the religion of peace blow something up, murder innocent children, or cut off their daughters' heads because they flirted or got raped, we need to learn to become more culturally sensssssitve....oh my, they have been persecuted by the white imperialists all these years and such.
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

LOL, putting this on the liberals makes you seem uneducated, so please do yourself a favor and either consider what you are saying or not saying anything at all.
I don't know who's more insane, the muslim extremist that threaten violence over cartoon satire, or the American broadcast network that willingly edits the cartoon satire over muslim threats of violence. Does anybody remember the Bugs Bunny cartoon titled "Bugs Nips the Nips". How far we have fallen since the days of when Americans could identify their enemy.

I couldn't have said it better myself!

While I strongly agree it is stupid to edit the cartoon, as it is satire and meant to be funny, we have many more muslim friends then enemies. Odd enough we don't consider Roman Catholics our enemies though....after all 98% of Venezuela is Roman Catholic.

Is Venezuela's government a Roman Catholic based theocracy? NO. Hugo Chavez's policies toward America aren't driven by any one deity. Like MOHAMMED.
It would serve you best to move away from the witty Bill Mahr, George Carlin, Jon Stewart, cynical irony as a basis for your arguing points. These arguing points may seem bright and intelligent delivered orally, but in writing they are pretty weak and unpersuasive.

Then please leave alone the Glen Beck extremism and stop spewing racism and I'll take you a bit more seriously.
Edit- A bit odd of an observation from you when we are discussing South Park. Well, we were but you got too extremist to continue a regular discussion.

I got too "extremist"? You tried to use an argument of relativity by somehow equating Roman Catholics in Communist Venezuela with Muslim terrorist that want to kill Americans because of their depiction of Mohammed in a cartoon. The Roman Catholics in Venezuela aren't threatening South Park creators for their depiction of Jesus.
I was specifically mentioning your comment about America identifying it's enemies...I wasn't suggesting that the NYC Muslims that threatened the creators of SP were less devious then they are.
Comedy Central Considers Series About Jesus Christ Thursday, 06 May 2010 07:33 PM
Having already caused a fuss this spring with the depiction of the prophet Muhammad on "South Park," Comedy Central said Thursday that it has a cartoon series about Jesus Christ in the works.
"JC" is one of 23 potential series the network said it has in development. It depicts Christ as a "regular guy" who moves to New York to "escape his father's enormous shadow."
His father is presented as an apathetic man who would rather play video games than listen to his son talk about his new life, according to Comedy Central's thumbnail sketch of the idea. Reveille, the production company behind "The Office," "Ugly Betty" and "The Biggest Loser," is making "JC."
It wouldn't be the first time Jesus Christ has been on a Comedy Central cartoon; he's a recurring character on the long-running "South Park."
Comedy Central was the target last month of an Internet threat for a "South Park" episode that supposedly showed Islam's prophet in a bear costume.
Whenever "South Park" features Muhammad in an episode, Comedy Central obscures the character with a black box; Muslims consider any physical representation of their prophet to be blasphemous. Following the Internet threat, Comedy Central angered "South Park" producers by editing out a character's speech about intimidation in a subsequent episode.
"It's not certain what is more despicable: the nonstop Christian bashing featured on the network, or Comedy Central's decision to censor all depictions of Muhammad," said William Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Civil and Religious Rights......................>>>>................>>>>...............http://newsmax.com/InsideCover/US-TV-Jesus-Cartoon/2010/05/06/id/358127?s=al&promo_code=9DC6-1
