Boomer you're wrong with your assumption that the Tea Party is made up of Reps/Cons there are some Dems but what hurts your Dem party the most is the independents that have fled your party for the Tea Party movement.
The only Independents that went to the TP are the ones who can't get a voice anywhere else. Look at Palin, the GoP doesn't want her after everyone accused her of killing the McCain campaign. Granted she isn't an independent, but you get the idea.
Shadow of course there are some Dems in but they are NOT the majority. Self-respecting Dems will have nothing to do with that moronic ex-Governor from Alaska! She is laughable and pitiable.
Boomer it's the independents that are the real numbers that are neither Reps, Dems, or Cons who are no longer supporting this administrations policies and who will make the election in November very difficult for any incumbent who supported larger government, health-care, or more taxes.
Yeah! Self respecting Democrats only march with the like of Al Sharpton in Crown Heights, chanting Anti-Semitic hate speech in front of Freddy's Fashion Mart and sparking the violence that resulted in the death of what Sharpton called the "white interloper". No self respecting liberal would ever be part of these non-violent tea party rallies. Not enough excitement.
Crown Heights is pretty much run by the Chabad Lubavitch sect. It is hard to believe that Sharpton yelled out anti-Semitic speech. I would have to have some corraboration on that point. But that will be easy for me to get.
Freddie's Fashion Mart was in Harlem not Crown Heights. Al Sharpton incited a crowd that burned down the store, while occupied, killing people. Of course he was never charged and then ran for President in the Democratic primary. Paving the way for another "community organizer". But this one was for hope and change-lol-
BTW, if the Lubavitch really ran Crown Heights it wouldn't have the crime rate it now enjoys. That neighborhood is now in flux.
You first need to understand that most people don't agree with Al Sharpton, even those liberals you speak of.
Some black people that I work with and have worked with in the past, do not agree with and some even dislike Sharpton or Jackson. Some people are independent minded and don't agree or follow their leaders....just because of what party they are or their race.

The Tea Party is all wet. This sham of a revolution is a ruse by angry right-wing conservatives who are nothing more than hypocrites. This is most clearly displayed by who they choose to speak at all their events: a half-term governor from Alaska who flies around the country in private jets while most Americans can’t afford coach. I don’t profess to know every member of the Tea Party, but the ones I do know have several things in common: They voted for George W. Bush, not once, but twice. In addition they seem to be financially comfortable enough to travel around to these events without a worry in the world. How can anyone who voted for the most financially irresponsible president in history now rally against a democratically elected president who is trying — and succeeding — in digging us out from the horrible mess he inherited? What makes this country great are its social and ethnic diversity, and the public services we provide our citizens. I see the Tea Partiers’ marching and organizing on public areas built and maintained with taxpayer dollars. They are so steeped in their own anger they do not realize that the very Internet they use to communicate their vitriolic messages was built with taxpayer funding. Let’s wake up, America. Saving this country from its own greed and debt is a big job, and will take serious and thoughtful leadership. Slogans, rhetoric and simplifi ed answers may work for a bitter minority, but it certainly isn’t my cup of tea.

Glad nobody else uses slogans and simplified answers.
