Former Governor George Pataki has told the WSJ that he will not run for Senator against Sen Kristen Gillenbrand. He will concentrate of helping defeat Obamacare? The best way he could achieve that urgent goal is to defeat the unpopular Patterson pick.

This is good news for Senator Gillenbrand and bad news for the REPS. Recent polls had Pataki ahead and all other potential REP candidates behind by double digits. This is also a setback to REP/CONS efforts to retake the Senate.

I don't believe Patacki ever wanted to run for Senate.  He was the Governor why now the Senate...NOT!  The young Teddy Patacki is being groomed for God knows what.

Maybe but the polls all had him way ahead. After 3 terms as Governor maybe you can do something for the Nation?

If he really wanted to stop Obamacare then he should have run. This moves our Senate seat back into the solid DEM column. While the rest of the Nation goes more and more REP.

Pataki was a RINO during his tenure as Governor.  IF he's the best that the Republican party has to offer against
a vulnerable Democrat incumbant, then we New Yorkers are in for a dismal future.

Is there anyone out there to challenge the likes of Schumerbrand, Tonko, Silver, Savage, and others?

Schenectady County is seemingly a microcosm of New York State.

The only one against Schumer so far is another DEM. Absolute disgrace-this "leader" needs an opponent. Ditto Tonko. Like in Schenectady County you must take them out in a primary. No fan of Pataki but he could have won.

If Schenectady County is a microcosm of NYS then we are all doomed. Believe it or not in some parts of the State there is an actual 2 party system. On Long Island and Westchester REPS swept County positions.
