I can't tell if that is sarcasm or not, are you really serious thinking we have the best system in the world?

I don't have to pay the federal government when I file and I work 40 hours a week and have since I was 18 years old.  What the articles are saying are that 47% of people qualify for credits (child tax credit, home owner credits, etc).

Isn't smaller government what Patterson tried to do and his approval rating dumped to the low 20s?  I agree we need a smaller gov't in NYS, we are the worst in the nation.

Yes paterson did give lip service about cutting spending. However, he did not get the support from the rest of the clowns that govern NYS. NONE of them wanted to give up a dime.

Paterson also suggested cuts with union's.(teachers, csea, pef...etc...) That was his biggest mistake! Those suggested cuts cost him the governorship right off the bat. He didn't have a shot after that.

RE: the higher rates of healthcare that we have already seen--my in-hospital went from 500 to 1500.  Don't blame Obama--his program isn't even up and running.  It is the greedy insurance companies that are causing this probelm and it was under the Bush administration that the Medicare Part D came into play.  That program has been nothing but most trouble.

Paterson has not shot.  Obama should have already offered him something in DC so that it could smooth the way for Cuomo to announce.

The current administration has already admitted that health-care bill will not stop health insurance premiums from rising just slow them down.

Just like before the credit card interest rate regulations, they're all jockying for position before the law actually takes effect.

I'm locked into my rates for 2 years - good or bad, but I figure it's only gonna get worse for a while.

They can promise 'healthcare' which is not really the correct verbage....it's health insurance....healthcare is personal choice......but what they are not telling us is the VALUE of that so called healthcare....
while we are all fond of having jobs for everyone and everyone for a job....the breakdown of the medical system via techs/assistants etc is prevailing....step 1, step 2, step 3 and HIPPA involvement will make this
a very bumpy road and to fix the potholes ALL OF yours/mine info will be via the internet,,,,,,new future folks......

will it cost more.....YOU BETCHA.....is it better for anyone.....the VALUE remains to be meted out over the next generation......America used to love it's specialists.....it will become a giant clinic....the specialists
will be gone for the next generation and new research will trickle down like Chinese water torture.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
