The new state-by-state employment numbers released on Tuesday have an optimistic glow. Twenty states and the District of Columbia have larger workforces now than they did a year ago, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Ten of those states enjoyed increases of more than 10,000 jobs. New York was not among them. It lost another 4,300 nonfarm jobs between June 2009 and June 2010. Texas, on the other hand, picked up 87,800 jobs during the past year -- far and away the biggest increase in any state. It was followed by Indiana (up 30,100 since June 2009), North Carolina (up 30,000) and Pennsylvania (up 26,900).
All states remain below their peak employment totals from the previous decade, but the June upswing raises hopes that some parts of the country might be putting the recession behind them. New York ranked 31st in raw job growth, slipping from 8,614,300 nonfarm jobs in June 2009 to 8,610,000 in the same month this year.

What I find amazing is that he is posting this article, I guess stating that things need to change in New York State. The problem? Well, I guess that Mr. Santabarbara didn't think ahead that it's not just the State Government that leads to this issue. The fact is that even if Schenectady County had a SLIGHT decrease in taxes, we're still in the top 20 counties in the nation in taxes. Now, they can't say it's all state and federal mandates, because there are 62 counties in New York State. If the problem was JUST STATE AND FEDERAL MANDATES, then we would be equal with all of those 62 counties. Fact is, there's an additional 40+ that have the exact same state and federal mandates, yet even THEY have lower taxes than us. So, in fact, while he blames his opponent, George Amedore, for the fact that taxes are this high, he is also to blame, if not more so.
In fact, the fact that there are 40+ counties that are better than us in the tax column puts the blame square on the 15 people who sit in the room with a view of the Metroplex mile. Yes, I blame all 15 of them for it.
Santabarbara is clearly the most qualified and honorable of the two in this race. Period. Wonder boy George Amedore has done ABSOLUTELY nothing but LINE HIS OWN POCKETS!!! He only pretends now to support Term Limits and reducing his ridiculous taxpayer salary since Parisi made him look ridiculous in the Primary by getting 40% of his core repubs to abandon the Amedore sinking ship.
Send Amedore packing, along with the rest of this useless government!!
