Surprised you would need that Joanne.  If you have a visible handicap like broken leg, using a cane or crutch, they can give you the tag w/o documentation because it is temporary.  Renewal shouldn't require further documentation.

My husband stopped and got it before he picked me up from the hospital. So yes, he did need documentation for proof.

Power of attorney ceased when the person dies.  You can't sign for a dead person.  The wife did not have power of attorney for her deceased husband.  Another law misunderstood?

Could it be that the person with the power of attorney also was the administrator of the persons will and that would also allow them to act on behalf of the departed.

If that was the circumstance, wouldn't they still be signing their own name?  Executors would still not sign for the deceased.

Also, deceased people and their heirs and assigns are not entitled to STAR tax exemption.  

If the property was in an estate, then I don't believe it was eligible for STAR.  I could be wrong, but it just doesn't seem logical.  

I knew Democrats looooooved their programs for "helping" the "less fortunate." I guess it was only a matter of time before deceased became a group protected as "lass fortunate."

I thought these were 2 different folks......as for the dead, I didn't think they were entitled to anything other than getting
buried or cremated or whatever they wanted......

I would certainly be pissed off about dead folks getting 'rights' living off my back.......
