Did anyone else see the article in the Gazette today about last night's planning commission meeting? Apparently the members of the Commission listened to the public outrage and did the right thing. More interesting though is the letter by Mr. Parisi. Perhaps the rumor in the other thread about him considering a run for Assembly might be true. It seems like he is the only one to give his views publicly. Where do the other members stand? Anyone know?

Has anyone looked into whether there might be an ethics violation based on Mr. Parisi's comments? Based on the article it doesn't look like the conflict of interest suggested by Mr. Parisi was defended by the attorneys involved. Perhaps they know they are in the wrong? It's a good thing Mr. Parisi is on the Town Board to provide some level of professionalism to what is an otherwise dysfunctional mess.

Certainly interesting times in Rotterdam....

Sorry folks but SYNC gave contributions to the Cons/Dems ticket. Brick handled their transition and represnts SYNC. Too much political incest for this board to vote with planning commission.I predict they will get their co's and continue to be a drain on the town and school district.

Seems to me that Mr. Parisi is the only with the peoples' interest in mind, not only that he's trying to enforce a court order...I guess that doesn't matter to the majority since they could be bought with campaign contributions....

Just remember those supposed bastions of conservatism known as Brian McGarry and Brad Littlefield also accepted campaign contributions from Sync. Mr. Parisi is clear of that as well, it seems.

McGarry and Littlefield were running for office. Parisi just appointed himself!

The other Republicans didn't accept money from Sync either! We see who is truly in favor of the people, it isn't the dems and it obviously isn't the NNTP either!!! And now McGarry wants to run as a Republican!? Really? Don't tread on me!

Are you saying that sync OFFERED money to the reps and they OUTWARDLY refused? What reason did they give sync for not accepting their contributions?

I'm saying that based on campaign disclosure reports, Sync made no contributions to republicans. This is probably because they new the Republican position and thought they could buy the Democrats...Let's hope it doesn't work!

You or no one else knows that for sure. Donations under $100 do not have to be itemized. Perhaps the reps just didn't want that information to be available. No one can prove that.

However, sync just may have thought they could buy the dems....I agree with ya on that one. And may I also say that historically the dems can and have been bought. Perhaps that was the word on the street once the dems took control.

This administration will be interesting to watch....and they clearly need watching. They have Galesi, Golub, Larned, Sync, Ivonella, metroplex, rll, knocking at their liberal socialist door! But the informed residents will prevail!!

Again folks....attend all of these meetings. Stand up and be heard! Write letters to the editor! Get and stay informed!! This administration needs to be watched very very carefully!

the sad part of this whole discussion there are real people in the middle

people now labeled with a disability

people who are no different than all of us

do i have an answer for the problem - no

but from this point forward our leaders better be reviewing the rules
and demanding
proper zoning
proper paperwork
proper inspections with reqards to building codes
proper assessments

Bumble, so you are saying Sync donated 1,000 to the dems, 300 to McGarry, 200 to Littlefield, and only $99 to the republicans? You think Sync would think he could buy the republicans for 1/10th the amount necessary to buy the dems even though the republicans had killed them in court? That doesn't make any sense, John...

This is why folks in legislative/elected positions shouldn't be 'helping' being 'selfless' or 'nice' or 'neighborly' by showing how they go out of their way.....the government
shouldn't have a 'papa/mama' face......it's laws--dry boundaries.....in NYS there is so much 'fee lgood' -- 'feel your neighbor' legislation that we have lost sight of
our own personal reaponsibilities and priorities.......the 'feeling' is for church......
