A beleaguered Gov. Paterson has pulled the plug on his election bid, a source close to the governor said Friday. He will announce the decision later Friday. Paterson been under fire for contacting a woman who accused one of his top aides of domestic violence. The source said the governor has agreed not to seek election, but he will not resign - opting to serve out the remainder of his term. The decision clears the way for Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, who is the favorite of many Democrats, to seek the nomination unimpeded. I'm no fan of paterson.....but this is just yet another example of how, starting with obama all the way down to the local media, can destroy anyone in it's path. They clearly are trying to make way for Cuomo!! He is the one they want in! When paterson said 'no' to obama's 'suggestion' to not run for re-election, that put the liberal democrat beast in action. They obviously would stop at nothing to get paterson out of the way!
I'm no fan of paterson.....but I'm clearly no fan of cuomo either! |

What a loss to this State-NOT! He should resign in disgrace for what he allegedly did. This was Brian Stratton's boss/mentor? Did you hear the latest about DEM Congressional "leader' Charlie Rangel? Another disgrace to NYS! He should also resign in disgrace and stop blaming his staff for what he did. |

Oh God no - we don't need another unelected person in office ... and worse, an appointment of an elected person. I'd like to see him go too - but please, not till a valid NYS election. |

Paterson should just resign-no one elected him Gov to begin with. Congressman Randel is another national disgrace. Head of House Ways and Means Committee-doesn't report income, doesn't report gifts and nobody says nuthin. He will probably be re-elected. Charlie Rangel is head of our NY Congressional delegation? Some of you need to focus attention on the big problems. |

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York's Public Integrity Commission has charged embattled Gov. David Paterson with an ethics violation involving a gift of free Yankees tickets for the 2009 World Series that could cost him nearly $100,000 in penalties.
The commission says Paterson may also have given false testimony in the case now being turned over to the Albany County District Attorney's office for possible criminal prosecution.

What is wrong with this Gov? With all he is overpaid he can't afford to pay for his Yankee tickets? Paterson is finished-he will not make it another 2 weeks. |
