NASHVILLE — The burgeoning tea party movement should remain leaderless and decentralized, former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said Saturday, calling the effort “bigger than any king or queen of the tea party.” “Put your faith in ideas. I caution against allowing this movement to be defined by one leader or operation,” she told the National Tea Party Convention in Nashville. The small-government movement is “a ground-up call to action that’s forcing both parties to change the way they’re doing business. Palin spoke ill of the party machine. She shall suffer the same fate as JM did locally. How dare she question party bosses and encourage bottom up government. It's as if she read the Constitution and reminded the people who holds the power in this great nation.
She was smart to not anoint herself the leader of this movement, even though pundits(FOX specifically) are calling her the face of the Tea Party. It won't be long before Republicans start personally attacking and destroying the candidate they endorsed for VP just a year ago.
I don't see the GOP doing that to her because they need her to activate their base. The GOP must change back to their core values and the Tea Party will vote for those candidates that reflect their views, moderate Dems and Independents will also vote for candidates that are fiscally conservative and anti big government and radicals either right or left will not be getting their vote.

What do you mean? The local GOP sacrificed every candidate they ran in the name of teaching a lesson as to what happens if you are disobedient to the party boss. It will be interesting to see how blind the GOP is to this mounting reality.
Hopefully the 'national' GOP are a bit smarter than our local GOP and realize that they have 'no choice' but to endorse the candidates the tea party (we the people) want to see in office. It would be a win for the GOP and for 'we the people'!!
For example....if our local GOP kicked ST to the curb instead of mertzie and endorsed Mcgarry.....Mcgarry would be our supervisor today. Same for oconner! We'll see what happens the next cycle around.

Nobody is going to do anything to Palin. She is popular--dumb--but popular. If she is the best Rep/Cons have to offer you're in trouble.

You are absolutely correct. And like I said before...it took SEVEN years for the reps to distance themselves from Bush during an election year. But it took, what?, a year for the dems to distance themselves from obama? Most of the liberal socialist progressive dems are dead in the water and they know it!!

If Palin attempts to co-opt the Tea Party movement on behalf of the Republican Party she will alienate many of the Tea Party people. Remember, Tea Party people truly want representatives outside of the current two party system. Palin was the Republican VP candidate. It would be quite the tight rope walk to accomplish such coercion.
