boomer, please stop saying brainwashed.  It is called being TRAINED.  Firefighters are trained to fight fires, police officers are trained to respond to dangerous/life threatening calls.  Just because a person chooses a career that puts their own life at risk or may be put in the position to take the life of another (police) doesn't mean they are brainwashed.  Our soldiers are making conscience decisions; our military are not a bunch of mindless zombie killers.

MT--good point.  I am against Obama getting even more entrenched in the war.  Already protested that and called Schumer/Gillebrand's office as well as Tonko's.  Buying the armour was hardly "cool." It was a huge necessity.   My father and grandfather fought in the "good" wars.  US was attacked.  This is not the same war.  But you're right--if my father were alive he would be furious with my stand.

And Sombody is right about the Viet Nam vets.  I ran St. John's/St. Ann's Outreach Center and my soup kitchen was open twice a week.  Many homeless Viet Nam vets came to eat there.  In fact we worked with Colonie Elks to get those vets flu shots.  I believe Colonie continues to run that program for those folks.

Sombody--glad you stayed out of the war.  I had a senior citizen client who only had one child.  She drove him to Canada to avoid the draft.  He never returned to the US.  We needed to get her closer to him because she suffers with dementia.  Because of their healthcare system, we needed to find her a place in Buffalo so that he could see her often and she could still have the health benefits she needs in her final days.

Of course your neighbors would be pi$$ed with my comments.  VFP folks have lots of army, air force, and marines in the group.  In fact it is one of the marines who speaks extensively about the way the kids are brainwashed to fight.  I think we have exhausted this subject.  I will still support the troops by trying to get them home and continuing to send packages oversees to those kids that my relative left after he was discharged.

Oh btw--daily prayer to bring them home should be part of everyone's regiment.

and I'm pretty sure you and the rest of America are 'brainwashed' into thinking that Zocor/aleve/cybalta/advair etc etc etc......will make
you live longer......really....we are trained and training can be changed......the question:"to whom do we give our will over, if at all?"
because honestly unless everyone is taught person powerful choice will.,,,,anyone will roll over it as you are trying to roll over my
will of choice...and a soldiers will of choice(even if wrong in your eyes)......

brainwashing: all women can only be servants and take care of babies and/or elderly....men work hard to bring home the bacon?

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS
