No different then the Jack Denny-John DeGeorgio retirement sham.  The Tomassone Admin allowed Jack Denny to use up over extended sick time after he submitted his retirement papers.  Did the same kinda thing with John DeGeo by hiring him back as a "consultant.'  All the while he was playing golf with the AWOL Hwy Super.  LOL  You are a constant joke and easy target Bumble.  HeHeHe

I could care two lumps of fresh steamy doggie doo about the past

my concern is the present and future..

Our Town Clerk is on leave and not servicing the town public from a business stand point but can be the Grand Marshal of the Town Parade - This position should be for the Parent or a Spouse of a town resident who gave his or her life for our freedoms.

Either you are working or you not.

and if you are not working step down and let the "people" choose not the Puppeteer

You've fallen way out of the canoe, Tippy!! And you're up the creek without a paddle!!

Eunice's husband was a WWII veteran who was decorated with the Bronze Star for bravery, and her oldest son served in the Navy during Vietnam. Eunice herself was a real "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII at the Depot! Try as you might, I doubt you could find a better person to "Honor those U.S. men and women who died while in military service!!!"

I think it's time for you to get a job!! (Unless you're working and blogging on your boss's time)

[BTW: I'm retired --- and bored of your inane sour grapes!!]

Rosie the riveter my A$$ she dipped weapons in paraffin  - women visit the spa to have wax applied to their bodies

You bring me the wife and the parent of a veteran - show me the "Gold Star"

The Holiday is about honoring those who "DIED" in action not veterans, they have a different very important day

I would think Eunice knows all about dead people as she witnessed not just one(confirmed), but, I now
hear a total of 5 (five), dead people coming before her at Town Hall asking for a Notary. - note: I was not
told the names just the quantity.

I almost sure they legally parked in a handicapped spot while they were a Town Hall being witnessed

Bring me a Grand Marshal who is a Parent, Spouse, or a Child of a Service Member who gave their
life for my freedoms..

Tippy your post tarnishes your ability to be just.  Just what I would expect from the Tommasone Club.  Shame on you.  I will be first in line to salute Eunice--a real warrior for Rotterdam.  Shame Shame.

I never understood why there was a 'grand marshal' for a parade. For a memorial day parade, I would like to see it started with someone carrying the American flag, followed by a riderless horse to remember those who gave their lives so we could be free. Followed by a branch of every armed service.

I don't think it should be political in nature. In fact, I don't think ANYONE in political office should be in the parade. They should be on the sidelines, like everyone else, saluting, remembering and honoring these veterans. Politics should 'stand down'! IMHO

What I want to know is who made EE a "HERO".  Do heroes break the law?
Besides her husband died of a heart attack after the war, not during it and her
son is still alive and well saluting his mother daily, while she sits at home saluting
Rotterdam (for those of you who don't understand my innuendo, position your
hand straight up and from your thumb stop at the third finger of your hand and
drop all of the fingers surrounding it).

Yeah I agree Bumble--the only horse we have seen the last several years were the horses a$$es who were occupying TH.

You would be hard pressed to find anyone who could be grand marshal as qualified as Eunice.  She has been a true patriot for Rotterdam.

With regard to those who have lost their lives in the Iraq War instead of continually thanking these poor kids for their service why haven't you Reps spoken out about the DISservice that was done to them by your hero Bush.  Lets hope Obama can end these senseless wars.

What a liberal load of sh!t.  Turning our hero's that VOLUNTEER to serve the country into victims.  THEY ARE HERO'S - THEY DESERVE HONOR -NOT PITY!

The only disservice done in this town is that done to the residents.  I am embarrassed to have our TB meeting even broadcast on public access.  FDG and the rest of these clowns represent the residents.  They are an embarrassment.

Eunice isn't even qualified to notarize.  Self admittedly she didn't even serve her office with honesty and integrity, yet we are going to reward her with the high honor of grand marshall of the Memorial Day Parade?  Are they going to bring back Jimmy Constantino to lead the local Girls Scout troop in the parade?

What a laughing stock.

The appearance of elected officials in ceremonies to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country
reduces the solemnity of the event.

It disgusts me that the only time that the residents of Duanesburg see those who are elected to represent them in county
and state government is when these faceless and unaccountable bureaucrats find their way to town to appear in parades
and at fundraisers for not-for-profit organizations that are held in the days leading up to elections.

If the politicians want to honor the men and women who served their nation and died to protect our shores and our individual
liberties and freedoms, the politicians should do more to support veterans' organizations and respect and defend the Constitution
that those in the military hold in the highest regard.

Bumble though tit doesn't happen often on this I agree with you 100%. This should be about the brave men and women that served our nation with honor and dignity and risked the greatest sacrifice to do it. Allowing politicians to make such an event about them is a mockery to our troops. The politicians should be standing on the sidelines and should be saluting, thanking, and shaking the hands of those willing to risk it all for our way of life. This is not about politicians and no politician should be allowed to make this day about them.

Well since EE didn't step down from office, I highly doubt she will step
down from being the grand marshall.  I would think she would have
more class than even accept being grand marshall, but obviously not.

ALL veterans are for peace, there are just a few who don't understand that war happens sometimes when your country gets attacked. Most know that it is an terrible, evil and nasty thing that is not always preventable no matter how much our nation and its people WANT peace.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Not me! We just didn't have a forum like this so we could say it.

NOt exactly GB.  Some soldiers are just violent in nature and love the fight.  Veterans for Peace are vets who have been to war and know the lasting results of war and the effect on the returning soldier.  At this point, we have more American kids (soldiers) who have committed suicide because of the war than who have been killed in war.

Also Veterans for Peace aren't always asked to march in every parade.  But they should be.
